People keep telling me the blinker noise is very loud and annoying when on a phone call. Especially if at a long traffic light waiting to turn. Anyone else hear this complaint and does anyone have a work around for it?
What's more annoying is the huge red flashing collision alert when someone is turning way in front of you and it's not even close.

I must be the only Maverick owner that still has my hearing, but yes, the blinker sound is much louder (and annoying) than any other vehicle I've driven. It is not a deal breaker though; love my Maverick!

My F-150 was the loudest. My Chevy Avalanche had the feature that if you didn't turn it off and were going straight above 30 it would start chiming. I solved it all by moving to Mississippi where using turn signals is discouraged, as is stopping for stop signs and red lights. Most people here don't talk on their phones while driving, they text. Problem solved!

They also use the middle stripe in the road as a guide for the middle of their vehicle, except on curves. Then they on the inside and accelerate out of it. They all think they are Dale Earnhardt. I have been run off the road by oncoming traffic on more than one occasion.

Did you check to make sure your blinker fluid was full?

I would attempt to locate the blinker relay and insulate it.

Its obvious here the fokes who do not have to commute several hours a day in a given direction for their chosen occupation.

Its also very obvious the hypocrisy of some people who have never in their years of driving ever answered a phone call, placed a phone call, or been momentarily distracted by a notification on their phone.

I think we are all adult here enough to realize that ideally yes all phone calls should be saved till your safely at your destination and in the middle of some agressive bowl movements. This is the only time phone calls are appropriate.

Good idea on wrapping the relay! I'm not sure where that relay is at though. I have been under the dash many times and it is PACKED under there. I like mine loud as my hearing is pretty shot.

Its possible its a fuse box mounted one and would need to insulated inside the fuse box. Mine is not due to be delivered till this spring so will need to investigate then.

If you wear hearing aids or hard of hearing it isn't loud enough.

Is it a relay? It sounds to me like a tone played by a speaker.
And if it's a relay, FORSCAN isn't going to be able to do anything about it.

I was under the impression relays aren't used any more. Most of the time the sound is played over the left dash speaker by the BCM. Correct me if I'm wrong. I replaced the stereo head unit with an aftermarket in my 06 pontiac and lost blinker noise, door chime, and key reminder chime.

Thanks for the legitimate responses. For the snarky ones (some gave me a chuckle) I bet you all know how to use the Bluetooth hands free function. How could that be….. by the way, they call it hands-free for a reason. No different than speaking to somebody in the car next to you. I do not operate the phone manually or text while driving. And since I have 2 1/2 hours of commuting every day there is work business because things are happening outside of my work hours .
Maybe someday I will post and ask for how did everyone delete that option or find a way to disable it since there’s no possible use for it.
It would have been easy to post a bitter response to some of the more "snarky" replies to your initial post, but you handled this with class and calm, so I respect you for that. My suggestion of finding the clicker module (I have no idea where it might be, but you should be able to find it under the dash by listening closely) and finding some type of sound limiting material to wrap around it to hopefully deaden the sound was an honest reply. Good luck.

If you're not already aware, you can reduce the sensitivity of the pre-collision alert.
