Biggest tire size on stock suspension?

Hey all. I work at a rubber manufacturing plant for Firestone/Bridgestone and just bought a new 25’ maverick AWD. We have an employee program where we can exchange tires on a new vehicle with any Firestone/ Bridgestone tire of our choosing for free. What is the biggest tire size I can go on a stock suspension? Don’t really plan on lifting since I have to make the exchange within 500 miles. Thanks!

Depends on your wheel size. On the 17" wheels, I wouldn't go over 245/65R17. There's lots of tire size info in that section of the forum. That may be useful for you.

I just had my level kit removed and running 245/70r17's. It's tight but not rubbing.

I'm looking for 245 70 17. It's real close but I think that's the limit.

I have had 265/60/18 on my 23 AWD stock suspension with no rubbing. I took them off and put the steelies back on when I traded it for my Hybrid. These tires and wheels are available in the phoenix area. I also have a RC 1" leveling kit available (never used it).

Probably most of the 245 width tires for SUVs will fit, but there are a lot of 245s with real square edges for offroading and they probably will not fit. Just remember that with 20mm more tire scrub, the mileage will go down.

When you look for tires to fill the wheelwells better, you might want to be careful to watch for load range and tire weight. One of the sizes I was homing in on turns out to be a size used on heavy trucks, and they were all load range E and very heavy. I think this would mess with both your mileage and ride.

I would not go larger than 245/65-17 or 245/55-19 if you have a Lariat or BAP.

I have 245/60R18's on my '24 Lariat. No rubbing.

I have 245/60 R18 on my Maverick Lariat EB and it produced some appreciable poke up front (not out back becuase the track is slightly narrower... which I might fix with 5mm spacers., seriously)

Most folks that say they have 265 of anything without rubbing are generally stretching the truth a bit... You'll find enough shouting matches here on MTC where the poster will finally admit to rubbing at full steering lock w/ stock suspension to get confirmation of that... LOL...
