It will be interesting to see how the new engine air intake and fuel injection designs work out on the 2025 EcoBoost. Keep us updated. Good luck and take care.

I just purchased a 2025 Maverick xlt 2.0 ecoboost AWD with the 4K towing package. Being someone who likes to do their own maintenance, (YouTube Certified Master Auto Technician here) I watched videos on YouTube on others doing oil changes on their 2022-2024 ecoboost Mavericks.
Be careful. There are changes to the 2.0 ecoboost for 2025 that I'm lucky to have been paying attention to not cause damage.
Example: the oil filter to install is no longer the FL910S. It takes a new FL2127 that has different thread pitch that is not interchangeable. And good luck finding someone that carries it. Autozone? Nope Advance? nope! O'Rileys does. But I'm one of the unlucky ones with none near me. Ebay? Sure! At 2x cost PLUS delivery. Oil pan plug is also different. The AP04 magnetic plug everyone recommends won't fit properly and leaks.
What other surprises await?
Double check with your owners manual before you preform any maintenance or mods. When you see something in a video, but Amazon/Ebay warns it does not fit your 2025. Pay attention.
Hope this helps. Wish it was me getting warned before my mistakes.
Looks like you can get them from Rockauto for a reasonable cost

And I could not find the motorcraft FL2127 on AmaZon either.
I had to order the filter from my AutoValue parts store.

An auto engineer buddy once told me "We don't change it because you need it. We change it because we know how."
If it ain't broke, why did they need to change it? (I'll bet there's a reason somewhere).

Found out in another thread that the FL-2127 & FL-500S have the same thread, M22x1.50. FL-500S is longer.

This info saved me a major headache. Major auto parts websites like NAPA, O'Reilly, Autozone, Walmart still screw up on the oil filter size. Even the Purolator website lists the wrong filters for a 2025 2.0L Ecoboost, still showing 3/4-16 sizes. The correct Purolator sizes are
Purolator Boss PBL11403
Purolator One PL11403

Thanks!

I appreciate your opinion.........(just had to do that, LoL). Seriously though, this is really good knowledge. You are probably saving a lot of 2025 owners some headaches.
Yeah, because 2025 owners don't know how to look up parts and supplies for their trucks....we are a stupid bunch. Thank god the OP points this all out.

I am not stupid, I am far-sighted & just can't read the fine print without glasses. I am also vain & won't wear my glasses.

Also, the air filter has changed. The K&N I bought had to be sent back. Dimensions have changed.
The Motorcraft Air Filter is FA-2064 (PZ1Z-9601-A).
Changed this at 7450 miles when I found that the filter had oil in the paper.

OP you said,
“ Example: the oil filter to install is no longer the FL910S. It takes a new FL2127 that has different thread pitch that is not interchangeable.”

That change in thread pitch was so Ford could sell more filters until the aftermarket world catches up. And in that many will bring the vehicle in for service and that allows Ford to hook it up and look for trouble. New engine, let’s see if it has problems.

Took our Maverick into Ford and the tech had to talk to someone else to make sure the tech was using the correct filter. I am thinking that the tech was trying to put the 20-24s filter on.

I don't have a 2025, but this is the reason I monitor this forum. the information here is so useful that the user knows more than sales and sometimes more than maintenance. I have not completed the deep sleep (for me or my maverick) yet, but continue to monitor. Appreciate the info
