I use it for groceries, softener salt, and propane tanks mostly. I can slide it out to load and unload which is very handy. It’s just for keeping things in place. No need for a bed extender here. I do wish the price was a bit lower but I use it frequently so it’s fine for me at least.I feel like at that point I'd get the bed extender personally.
Great idea. I would miss the auto-dimming aspect, though. I realize the Maverick only came with the manual dim and many of us replaced it with an auto-dimming + home link featured mirror. Seems it would come down to what one considers more important . . . better rear view vision and the ability to capture rear video VS. auto dimming your mirror. It's a Jomise K17. I looked at a lot of them. Some (Wolfbox) have a red record light that always flashes even when screen is off and I didn't want that.

I had already wired a hardwire kit from the passenger fuse box for my other 1080p cam I replaced. It was pretty easy, just had to pull the A pillar trim.
I mounted the rear camera inside, it was easy as well. Pulled driver side A pillar back and you can tuck the wire under the other trim to the back seat. One piece of trim under the back seat that pops off and the rear pillar to run behind that. All fairly easy to do.

Edit: Quick video I made of the Dashcam features. It records the full view, but you can adjust your viewing angle on the screen. Although I mostly drive with the screen off and use it as a regular mirror.
Yes, I've never had a problem with headlights being too bright behind me. I think this camera/mirror is slightly dimmer than the factory rear view mirror when the screen is off, that could be why.Great idea. I would miss the auto-dimming aspect, though. Alternatively, I suppose one could figure out where to attach a small secondary screen specifically for the added camera. Anyway, thanks for the informative post. Food for thought.
Should have installed seat covers in the back to protest the seats from my kids…too lateSeat covers from and back. To protect seats from dog hair. These are the only accessories I have added so far.
One muddy footprint was enough for me. Although I like it the blue interior doesn't hide dirt well at all. The only two accessories I have are seat covers for the inside and mudflaps for the outsideShould have installed seat covers in the back to protest the seats from my kids…too late![]()
Sounds like you've got a solid setup.Yes, Iv

I also use a Meross Garage door opener that I can open/close with voice commands from Android Auto, so no need for a Home link accessory.
