That looks like a great solution, unfortunately I have an XL so no existing light to tie into. That would certainly be a lot cheaper and easier, mine evolved into quite a project.

It still looks great and must of done a lot of thinking and expertise to do a great job like that

Picking up my XL today - I hope I get motivated enough to make a cool setup like this, but might get lazy and end up with some battery powered magnet light or something. At least until I find some free time...!

Congrats on your truck, I've only had mine a couple months and love it. I started figuring out my lighting before I had the truck to pass the time. Thanks for the compliment and hopefully you'll get something useful from it. Battery magnet lights wouldn't be a bad option though.

Thanks for the update. I think I will be doing something like that with mine. I think I will run some usb ports, a 12 volt power, and my led lights, so I will probably run a slightly larger battery. I have been looking for something like this, so thank you for the link. I am adding it to my wish list now!

I thought I should post an update to this with the changes I made to my setup. I decided to add a battery that can power the lights when the key is not in the ignition as well as a 12v-12v charger to keep it topped off. Having to have the key in the ignition for the lights to work was really annoying and as I've had deep sleep issues already without the lighting I didn't want to draw on the trucks 12v battery. So far I'm really happy with the setup though it was definitely more involved than I originally intended when I started.
