I have a small yard clean up business in the Kansas City area. I just bought a Maverick and am picking it up this week. 2022 XLT.
The truck already has a folding cover over the bed.
In addition to normal yard debris such as branches, I pick up a lot of those spikey gumballs in the spring and early summer. They're the size of golf balls and I can fill the truck bed in just a yard or two.
I have noticed that the Ford bed extender has a lot of gaps through which spiky gumballs (the size of a golf ball) could fall out. Plus I have noticed it curves and leaves a few inches of unused space on the tailgate.
I'm wondering if anyone has used other options which fold onto the tailgate in more of a rectangular shape and also have smaller gaps. I feel like I have seen pictures but can't find it in a search.
Thank you!

Iām unaware of any bed extender on the market that would meet your desired criteria. A suggestion- take a length of open mesh material, chicken wire, construction site plastic fencing, or something similar and attach it to the bed extender with cable ties.
