I did not know it would do this. I am so use to old style cars I never would have thought to try. That’s the only way I can get the ebrake to auto engage on flat land.
Give it a shot. Its like a cheat code to auto engage the e brake. I also don’t roll up the windows but that’s because the handy lock button to auto roll them up.I did not know it would do this. I am so use to old style cars I never would have thought to try.
Be careful driving other cars you can get use to the automation. Auto headlights have me spoiled and I almost forget to turn them on with an other car I was driving and I did forget to turn them off, I looked back at the car and remembered it was not like the maverick and went back to turn the lights off.

User error. So you’re saying it will only be a user error. No potential long term mechanical issues with these steps.
Search in this club for it. It’s a forscan thing.Auto roll up windows? How?
I guess I don't know half the things my truck can do.
My mind is set but I’m asking if anyone knows if it will cause long term damage!!!! Seems like the answer is no.Sounds like his mind was already set when he posted. Hope he gets an answer he's waiting on from those ford engineers
Just don’t manually release the parking brake.I always put the parking brake on before I shift to park, that way it's the parking brake holding the vehicle still instead of the transmission.
That’s fine and all but speed2000 had an excellent point in his post to actually put brake on before to keep pressure/tension OFF the transmission. An excellent point to prevent long term damage to transmissionMy mind is set but I’m asking if anyone knows if it will cause long term damage!!!! Seems like the answer is no.
I think it seems like when I open the door like that the brake goes on but vehicle is still in D with my foot on the brake. Only after I turn off the ignition does it then move into p. So I think it’s all a legit way to do things. Just feels weird opening the door to have ebrake turn on. Ok I’m just. Gonna go to a dealer and ask. That’s fine and all but speed2000 had an excellent point in his post to actually put brake on before to keep pressure/tension OFF the transmission. I've never seen any of them comment on this forum (member since 2021).Goal is to get parking brake to auto engage. That won’t happen if I put in park. My process seems to work. Just want to make sure the ford engineers that read this have no issue with it.
Honestly they may know less about your vehicle than you do.Ok I’m just. Gonna go to a dealer and ask.
