Suddenly my auto start/stop is not working. Had side air bag recall and new ones installed. After that the auto start/stop would not engage. The monitor shows a line through the A but the button is not lit. The button to shut it off will engage and light up but it remains turned off. Ford service charged my less than 3K mile battery overnight, got it to function twice but then turned off again. They have "escalated" issue to Ford. Anyone else with this issue? Was it fixed?

Many reasons why the auto start stop might work intermittently and not all the time. Low battery, engine accessories on such as heated windshield or defrosters in use, Cold engine, vehicle on a steep incline. Out side temperature to cold or hot or high altitude areas. I don't think that one is your case. Might what to check the condition of the battery again.

Mine has a mind of its own. None of the above conditions exited when it would work and then decided not to. Had battery checked at dealership….all good. Spoke in length to the service foreman; was told there are 100+ different factors that cause it not to shut down the engine. Appears there is NO concrete answer to this issue. Life Goes On.

Well you could just shut it off when you start driving. I myself do that and I am not a fan of the auto stop start and don't see any serious increase in fuel economy when in use.. In any case enjoy your Maverick. :)
