You gonna try it?

I've disabled the double honk, added sport mode, removed sand mode, and I think that's about it. But I still have some time on my free trial for ForScan so lemme know if you try it and it works!

Someone did mention the downside is that it just straight up no longer works at all, meaning it would be nice if you ever got rid of the vehicle to put it back on for the next person to make that choice.

I'm a bit scared, tbh... lol. I added all the modes yesterday, but am still pretty new to FORscan. It was straightforward to use "easy mode", but this is a little deeper. I was hoping to find someone who had actually used the Bronco method successfully. I note that the F150 similar method uses a slightly different register. So I'm a bit hesitant.

I agree it would be good to keep careful notes so you can restore it to factory when you sell it.

Still hoping to find someone who did it. Otherwise I might end up as the guinea pig.

Hi Guys,

New Mav owner (absolutely loving it!). I've been researching the hated A/S/S "feature" and how to disable it with FORscan. There seems to be a lot of confusion.

I found this post (also noted on this forum) related to Ford Bronco: https://www.broncosportforum.com/forum/threads/disabled-auto-start-stop-with-forscan.3733/ . This involves changing: PSCM 730-03-01 xxxx xxxx 00-

1. Has anybody with a Maverick successfully tried this and had it work?

2. Were there any downsides (some people were concerned it would mess up other systems).

3. Have there been any other recent developments in turning off A/S/S with Forscan?

Thanks much!

I’ve heard that using your wipers can reset the a/s/s mode when altered through FORscan, but that could be for DRLs I can’t remember.
I just use the button every time, but I’ve also seen a wire harness that you plug in and it switches the button function, making a/s/s OFF as the default. $100 to save the headache for good

I disable on every startup. Operates like an every day car that way. Affects no other systems.

lol this reminds me of the shenanigan's the crew from Top Gear/The Grand Tour pull on each other.

Use the signal and you get a horn honk. Use the brake and you get a horn honk.

Weird... Mine doesn't have that. It also does this weird thing where it just keeps shutting down the engine and starting it back up at completely random times, in motion or at rest. Somehow the engine is off for up to ~80% of the distance traveled? It's really weird.
YES! I also Love the way my HYBRID works! Turn off= save gas!

Kinda the opposite during winter when it needs to maintain a temperature threshold though, at least that is my experience with it. Would kick on just to stay at a minimum operating temperature constantly. I would lose almost 100 miles per tank in the winter. Still, all things considered, saved at the pump more than any other ICE vehicle.

I can't believe that someone hasn't come up with a cheaper, easier fix for the start stop pain in the ass
right. There must be a forscan hack. I think the bronco one I refer to looks very promising I just don’t trust myself to go I to the non-easy mode yet.

I was hoping to get confirmation of somebody who has tried this method.

Yea, in other forums the questions that arise have always been "Why won't they let users make the choice permanently? " No real answer just assumptions that it's some EPA based thing to give manufacturers the fuel mileage estimates they crave so bad.

Ive mentioned this a few times on Facebook Maverick pages but THERE IS a way to turn of that crap, heres what I did in a lumps some. Go through each module and turn off anything that has to do with that system. NOT the as built just the ones that you can toggle on or off. Took me a few tries but presto, it worked.

I have 2019&2020 Rangers and putting LED night light in rear 120 volt socket disables the stop start. I tried it on my Maverick and no joy ! I heard it works on F150's also. Im still looking for a good solution. Bret

Yes, I have one and love them. I've had them on multiple vehicles.

Here is the correct link for the adapter:
https://www.autostopeliminator.com/...jdEqJwvYN3d_9l10McoCbeLIYBb2AzFUaArYAEALw_wcB

I was unaware this could be done in ForScan though.
Makes me wonder, just how many things I can plug into the back of the diagnostic port? I've already have Perimeter Plus VSS plugged in there. It's probably more of a space limitation than connectivity issues...

BTW... For a 100 bucks or so, I'll just shut it off manually, it's part of the start up routine, or one of the annoyances of the Maverick...
