Hi M Gang!
Fun one for Y’all…
Just curious what music everyone likes to test & and adjust their audio setups with? I have a few noise generators and capture programs, but for me there a few songs that help me set things up to my liking.
My favorite is Taxman by the Beatles. Nice clear separation between Bass/Mids/Highs and voice. I also like “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”…very cool guitar lines by Mr Clapton.
What does everyone else like to use, & Why?

Slowly 1-2-3-4 1-2 (quickly) 3-4.... Let me tell you how it will be...

I usually play a song by my top two favorite bands (the Beatles are number 3) either The Knack or something by Extreme.

here's a snippet of my demo playlist. no country, but otherwise a lot of range and just about everything has plenty of bass and percussion.

Any well produced tracks, in lossless or high bit rate AAC, played through good headphones or HiFi, and played until you are sick of them and using left brain to analytically process. The Alan Parsons test CD is are excellent starter tracks.

My personal favorite is Eye in the sky, by Alan Parsons project. I also listen to Yanni, the entire album Optimystic

Funny, Alan Parsons is the first artist that came to mind when I saw this thread. His solo album "Try Anything Once" to me, is a sonic masterpiece.

This is only my second post, just been lurking for a bit. My Maverick was in transit when the camera recall came out. Now it's sitting at the dealer waiting for the resolution.

You know what, I have had a hard time trying to find a song to tune a newly installed aftermarket sound system. "Taxman" by the Beatles is PERFECT for this!! The harmonization when all four are singing in this song is perfect. The base line that goes up and down covers pretty much the ranch I am looking for. And of course Ringo.............well that goes without saying. Revolver believe it or not is my favorite album by the Fab-4.

Regardless of which you use while working and testing, once you're ready to go for the first time, the clear choice is "Ride of the Valkyries"!

Since mid 90's I used to use Pink Floyd's "Division Bell" cd to test out cd players before I bought them, I had forgotten about that & haven't tried that one out in my Maverick yet.
