Are we being tracked?

Just came across this video about a car owner who didn't know the dealership added a 'tracking device' to his car when he purchased it. Does anyone know if our Mavericks have one of these devices? Is it added at the factory? Just wondering.

Do you have a cell phone? Yes we are being tracked and if you knew how much we are tracked you would really be surprised. Sure they give you the option to turn off tracking but that does not mean they turn it off.

So the truck has a built in cellphone connection, you can pull the fuse to disable it. Any aftermarket tracking devices are not from Ford but the dealership.

Do you use the Fordpass app? It tracks the location of your truck so what do you think that is worth? Someone is paying for that info.

I'm fine with these devices for financed vehicles. Though I think it should be disclosed and free removal upon payoff.

It's not your Maverick until you finish paying for it. It belongs to the finance company, and they have every right to know where it is when you try to hide it from the repo man.

Ford and any govt. agency can track you through the telematics modem. Those units are dealer installed, usually on financed vehicles so they can locate and repo them if the buyer defaults on the loan.

I looked there's not one under my dash. But as everybody else said kf you own a smartphone, a Smart Home Assistant they're tracking you & listening as well... Nothing new to se here.
