I'd like to see and hear about your Mavericks on 20s. What tire size and what if any speedometer accuracy issues.

Lowered or not, I would actually like to see some without lowering as I want to lower mine but I need to find a shop I can trust to do it before jumping for Eibach springs and I am also still unclear IF the springs and an alignment are all I will need to lower my Maverick.

I currently have a set of 20s from TSW that were on my Edge (yes they are 5x108) and I desperately want to put them on my Maverick however I have 255/45ZR/20 tires on the wheels currently and I am not sure if those will be ok for not rubbing and also not throwing off the speedometer too much.

Factory size tires are 225/65/17, diameter is 28.5 inches. Your tires are 255/45ZR/20, diameter is 29.1 inches. The speedometer will be slightly off (1.8%) and it's not quite ideal, but in my opinion, not crazy.
This website is very helpful for looking at tire sizes: https://tiresize.com/calculator/
One of our fellow forum members has made this very helpful chart when looking at the likelihood of rubbing via the width: https://www.radmav.com/wheel-offset-charts Thanks @RadMav

TL/DR: they'll fit, but not well. Tires should be replaced.

Hmm... Does that mean 255/60/17 would fit without rubbing?

20x9 wrapped in 245/45/20 tires .. no speedo adjustments made as overall diameter is very close to stock.

Obviously not lowered ... I am in the same boat as you.... I want to deal with a local shop that has dropped at least one Maverick ..hopefully a Hybrid. I will get the new Eibachs as well.
Ya know ...it's not so much having a shop drop it ...I'm more worried about the care taken to not mess up my paint/interior.

Anyhow .... the windows not being tinted to match the back windows is bothering me more than the Mav not being lowered ...so that's next for me.

I have 245/50/20 on +40/8.5”wide rims, as some on here have put larger edge OEM rims and aftermarket options as well should be no problem.

Going from a 225 or 235 to a 255 and from an 18 to a 20" wheel WILL impact gas mileage. Sorry but that is just physics. A wider tires creates more rolling resistance with the road. A larger wheel is not only heavier but creates more rotating mass. Car and driver did a test years ago to demonstrate this. Not just going by thier article, this has been known for years.
