Anyone install a tailgate light bar below the tailgate?

Mine only acts as a brake light, no turn signals or backup, but it was only $14 plus $10 for the brake logic circuit to keep it from flashing with the turn signals. I tapped into the brake/turn wire on each taillight, haven't had any issues (I don't think, I'm not back there looking at it too often).

None of the trailer wiring is used. The T-connector plugs into the taillight harness (no splicing).

Was looking for the coloring of the tail light wires and found this thread. What im at a loss for though is my colors dont match the colors listed in the diagrams. well not all of them. I'm naming them as wire-strip.

Like it looks like I have violet-white and gray-yellow on one row. the next row. has Green-White, Violet-Dark Purple, and Green-Brown.

I've been able to test that the second row is turn/brake, running, reverse but ive got no clue what the top ones should be aside from a ground.

Any ideas.

edit: I have a lariat so this is a 6 pin connector. are the XL and XLT also the 6 pin?

The Lariat also has an LED accent around the outer edge, that may be the extra wire(s) you're seeing.
