Anyone else have this problem: my rear, interior ceiling light will not turn off after I shut the engine and lock the doors. I have to physically cycle the interior light switch (located near the rearview mirror on the ceiling) by turning it off and on. This occurs about 60% of the time. What a hassle! I don't want a dead battery! Anyone else having this issue?

Other than that, I really love my 2025 Maverick! I forgot how well Ford made four cylinder turbo charged engines!

Just to confirm, it stays on longer than a minute or two? Sometimes I stand there and wait for it to fade out just to make sure (same fear).
Nope. I stand there, like a bloody fool, and watch as well, hoping it will eventually shut off. It will not shut off. I have to cycle the switch. How long does yours stay on for? The front cabin area light fades off, no problem. It's the rear light that does not.

I know you are cycling the light switch… but what position are you leaving the switch at?

There is “On,” “Off,” and what I would call “Door” in the middle.

I keep it on "off." The far right position (pressing the far right toggle position).

I mean, what position is the switch in when the lights don’t turn off? I assume when you keep the switch in the “off” position the lights are off and stay off. Have you tried leaving the switch flat aka “Door?”

I keep it in the "off" position all the time, which means the interior cabin lights should never come on when I open and close the doors, correct? The far right toggle position, "off." Something just came to mind. After driving around and parking in my garage, I wonder if the switch itself is faulty and kind of slightly falls out of position from regular driving (slight road bumps) thus making the lights come on when they should not be coming on?

They should never turn on in this position
Exactly. Ya think the switch kind of falls out of place from road driving? When I keep it in the middle position (as a test), the front light turns off but the rear does not.

Correct on the “off” function as far as I know.

Would not surprise me to hear of a faulty switch. Its operation is not generally confidence-inspiring.

I keep it on the "off" positions always. I don't want the interior lights turning on at all.

I had my done light switch replaced under warranty. You should document the issue and look into that.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. My 2025 was totaled in a flip over accident after being rammed from behind while waiting behind stopped traffic. I hope my 2026 replacement does not have this issue.
