I hope you take the time to complain to Ford about the dash rattle. Many of us are facing this.

What material did you use for "fender isolators"?

It will likely get worse like mine, especially when it's colder and as it flexes over uneven road.

I got a chuckle out of the similar paint colors on the Porsche and the Maverick and the fact that they both have black wheels... Both good looking vehicles!

On topic... I have an XL AWD with CoPilot 360. So far, after 1,300 miles, the build quality seems okay. The fabric on the front seat lower cushions was wrinkled at delivery but seems to have improved somewhat after having butts in the seats for a while. There appears to be a dollop of excessive seam sealer (which was painted over) on a corner of the bed near the tailgate. The header of the bed near the cab has some undulations near the top.

There are a few design/quality issues that I would consider problems on a new vehicle at any price, namely, flaky CarPlay and bluetooth audio streaming (even after updating the infotainment and running current software on my phone), and the ignition key is angled poorly and also causes any other attached keys to rattle on rough pavement. Flipping up the lower rear seat cushion is difficult to do with one hand, but shouldn't be. Road and engine noise are higher than I would like and higher than I was led to believe by the reviews that I read, but not terrible. The eight speed automatic is great, and the 2.0T provides plenty of power, although I continue to doubt some of the claimed acceleration times I've seen, even though I run it on premium (time to download the Dragy app and see for myself, lol).

Overall, I'm pleased with the Maverick especially given the price I paid, but I also think it was over-hyped by the automotive press, because they tend to over-hype all-new models in general, and also more specifically because the press was so excited to see a revival of the mini-truck segment, which was thought to be defunct.

Reason: Good, Better, Best marketing strategy. It's all part of the plan. XLT is specifically designed to be the right value proposition for most people, with the other trims to handle edge cases and make XLT look like a good deal. After all, when you aren't getting the cheapest version, but not going all out with the most expensive, it increases the sense of value. If XLT was the only option, they wouldn't have that marketing aspect.

Good: XL. It gets you the basics at an attractive entry price. Exists mainly to make XLT look like a better deal. Intentionally devoid of what many might expect as a basic standard feature these days, such as a power tailgate lock

Better: XLT. Gets you some desirable upgrades for a relatively small additional sum.

Best: Lariat. Gets you more "luxury"-esque touches. Everything available on the vehicle. Also exists to make XLT look like an affordable value proposition.

The rough ratio between trims is also mostly in-line with Ford's expectations, thus the production ratios.

Hybrid is a bit different; either they didn't expect the majority to be happy with the base hybrid (especially for less money in MY2022), or they simply cannot/won't source the components to build more hybrids. Escape hybrid with most of the same powertrain components (eCVT/electric motor is a bit different) is also highly constrained.
I’m waiting on a lariat build because……

* the XL is just too basic for my needs and comfort (no cruise)
* the XLT has a horrible white plastic and orange interior
* the lariat has many things I really need like heated seats. I have added the BAP since I got rolled to 23 because the normal lariat interior is also a bit tough on the eyes.

It ain’t lipstick on a pig. It’s what is of value to me or what I need. Of course, if no hybrid version existed, I wouldn’t even be considering a Ford product. There’s a Santa Cruz out in the driveway and I can attest that its build quality is waaay ahead of a Maverick. Not even close.

Well thats good of em. Still sucks for offroaders. Maybe it cam be beefed up a bit plastidip or bedliner and some fiberglass resin.
I and the vast majority of Maverick drivers use roads and even go so far as to think that's what roads are for. I am not sure why you think Ford should put more expensive protection with the associated cost passed on to the on-roaders just because a vast minority like to drive over large rocks, up steep rutted inclines, and through mud holes and streams. You own it so you do want you want ...... like pay for your own protection such as skid plates!!! :) Just my opinion and, yes, we all have one! :D

Guarantee those are gonna cause rust from holding moisture in 10 years. In my opinion I dont see the point felt underbody protection of any kind. Save money and leave it off on lower trims and add actual underbody protection to FX4 and Tremor and Lariat
