I just received my window sticker and they added the $200 price increase. Now its $995. My order was submitted on 10-1-21 with a scheduled build date this week. It originally was $795 for the sunroof on my XL 2.0 AWD. On the phone with Ford now to find out if they can do something since the order was input 3 months ago. I could use the $200 in other accessories. Hopefully they can change that for me but is there anything that I can do about this price increase? Shouldn't that affect just new order submissions?

I didn't think the increase in price affects orders placed before 12/27.

Yes, thought about the moonroof after the price increased. Called the dealer and asked some questions and will hold off and if bumped to MY23 will definitely added it. The reason not now is that will also add $890 Dec 27th price increase for the Lariat trim, Lux pkge and Co-Pilot360.

The reason not initially was that my wife never used it and almost never drive here car. Thought it was to far back to enjoy and already had a build price was already over 30k, which is a lot of money. Did borrow her car and opened it on a warm day and notice that could fairly easily look up and to my right and enjoy it and perhaps would smell the roses and drive a little bit slower. :)

Plus now aware of reducing a/c use will be better for the battery with the roof open for airflow.

Ordered the moonroof on mine. Even with the price increases on the moonroof and packages, and dropping mudflats and tonneau cover, I’m actually close to $500 cheaper.

My Mav is coming with a moonroof for $995

To me, it is a MUST HAVE feature. When driving through the mountains it's great being able to see them tower over you. It helps keep the vehicle aired out. It's more secure to crack the moon roof than the regular windows.

IMO it gives you about 70% of the joy a convertible provides without any of the hassle. After having two cars with them I can never go back.

One major motivator for the sunroof is my doggie. My dog is my sidekick and goes almost everywhere with me. Having the moonroof + windows down regulates the temperature much better than the windows alone, especially if you're parked in the shade. Makes a big difference if we're road tripping and I need to run inside to use the bathroom real quick.

The claim that you lose significant ceiling height with a moon-roof is simply false. 6' Tall and till have plenty of headroom.

When I originally ordered the Mav moonroof was $795. When I dropped the SIBL the order was re-costed and the moonroof was bumped up to $995. Dropping the SIBL didn't seem to speed up my order so I got hosed for $200. Anyway the moonroof was a must have for me. Cars without some feature like that are less appealing, and if I am going to order from scratch I'm going to get it.

The power moonroof is the main option I'm looking forward to on this vehicle.

I'm very happy with mine. No (or very little) buffeting, noise level is OK, and it's a decently-sized opening. It's worth waiting for, IMO.

Had a sunroof on two cars, 1966 Volkswagon Beetle and 2017 RAV. If I never have one again, I won't mind. If you slide the cover back in the winter, you can feel the cold. If you slide the cover back in the summer, you can feel the heat. Useful, but definitely not needed, for about 2 or 3 months a year, Another possible point to leak.
If I had a choice, I would go without.

The sunglass holder is overrated. The tray behind the e-brake switch is perfect for glasses.

I wish I'd ordered the sunroof. But I don't want to risk changing anything now.

I tend to always go for sunroof options, it’s so good to drive on a nice day with the sunroof open
However I live in Houston and in practice I rarely open my sunroof
I was in the fence when I ordered and just opted not to order it
My other car has one if I really feel like I need it (actually all 3 other cars in our house have them)

My first car, 82 honda prelude had one. Been hooked since. I'm 6'4. My 22 xlt fx4 has a sunroof. I haven't had any issues with my head touching the ceiling at all.
I do sit a tad further back though.
Ordered a 25 lariat hybrid awd, Eruption green, black appearance pkg., sunroof.

I really enjoy the sunroof, my inner child likes to stick my hands out of it. Although I do feel like Shaq sometimes with my head wanting to peek out of it all the time.

But I already have a couple of convertibles for that! No, wait, I have three of them.

Anyway, I'd thought that the difference between a sunroof and moonroof was that a sunroof opened to outside, and a moonroof merely let you see. But apparently, that isn't it (at least on a maverick).

I wouldn't want one if they were half the original price.
