Mine is dialed in just perfect for me. Steering feels just right. Love the way it feels going done the road. Best truck ever for me.

It is a bit heavy… for a car.

But it was designed as a truck, and that’s why it feels just right to me.

Mine is just right. I don’t like a light feeling wheel, makes it feel like it’s wandering all over the road. Added my favorite addition to my maverick today, last payment. It’s all mine.

Way, way, way too light. Steering has been trending to lighter and lighter over the decades in the USA. It's not that way in Europe. There's also a trend towards less and less feedback.

What really blows my mind is that our Volvo has a setting for steering weight. And the heaviest setting is far too light. Apparently Americans want their cars to behave like video games, where they are totally divorced from the driving experience.

I like mine so that I can steer with one hand but it doesn’t feel like it’s all over the road. That way I can drop one hand to rest and I can also grab my coffee cup for a swallow or two.

I have no problem with the steering but I have Schwarzenegger arms.
I have thin, ropey, old mans' arms and I like the steering too. 🤣

If the steering is to heavy or hard to turn....take it back and turn it in. That's a previous poster did. He lacked the strength to drive his Maverick šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Turn the lane keeping system off. That greatly improved the driving feel for me.

Maybe they didn’t get the system bleed of air completely

Pretty hard to bleed the air out of an electric power steering system. Where would you suggest that they start??

I thought it was a little heavy at first but I got used to it. On the 2015 Kia Soul I had before the Maverick I could push a button to change the steering feel or heaviness. Sport, Normal and Comfort basically heavy to light, it was a pretty nice feature.

Oh yeah, I forgot. Didn’t get enough coffee yesterday.

I agree with the OP. it should be "settable". And the "engine on off" thing at stoplights should also be a choice that can be set ponce and forgotten.

wife's 2020 Escape steering was over powered, my Mav just right and has a better on center feel.
