Mine is causing no issues, and honestly a little sticking/lag, if it ever does crop up, will not bother me as I do not totally depend on the camera. I really do not want dealer techs messing with my Maverick. Lol.

Gil. "Gpp"Being 74 i still use my mirrors as its alot easier!i dont even think my 2022 had a recall on it anyway!
I skip all those little recalls myself. I know the risks and am accepting of them. I’d regather not have the drape touch my stuff unless needed. And I have a decent dealer.Mine is causing no issues, and honestly a little sticking/lag, if it ever does crop up, will not bother me as I do not totally depend on the camera. Glen that is a good point. That’s the only time I am ok with my camera. As someone who use to drive box trucks. That is the importance of going slow while using mirrors. And as for my glitchy camera. Same thing. It lags so as long as I see it clear before I start to go and do go flying out backwards I’m as safe as it could be. We simply can’t stop everything from happing in the world. And I’m not sure the camera would fix that. I look in my camera as soon as I go into reverse to make sure it’s clear. Then immediately to my mirrors for backing up. So in no way would a camera that freezes affect any worse case scenarioGil. "Gpp"
I have a question for you.
When you are out in public say for instance in a store parking lot.
And a young child were to be behind your truck.
How many feet do you feel you would need to see a child using just your mirrors?
I agree, you can't stop everything from happening.Glen that is a good point. That’s the only time I am ok with my camera. As someone who use to drive box trucks. Yeah, tons of people have their view clouded with survivorship bias. "We lived in an era without rear-view cameras and survived to tell the tale, so they're not needed!" Wonder why we don't see the "I died because someone didn't see me and ran me over" responses in these threads?I agree, you can't stop everything from happening.
But in this case what you're trying to stop is running over a child or an animal and killing it. To me that seems pretty important and somewhat within your control.
The cameras already there. The goal is to fix it so it works properly.
The scenario that comes to mind for me is.
You're in a store parking lot. You get into your truck start it you have an EcoBoost so you have some engine noise the radio may come on. You check your mirrors in the camera everything looks good. A four or five year old breaks loosen their parents hand if they're being held at all. Tells them to stop they stop behind your truck as you start to back out.
With a camera that's frozen on the previous image, unless that kid is 25 ft away you're not going to see them.

In my mirror I see a kid standing behind the truck!

Yep, 25 feet away.![]()
I've never seen the camera freeze, since I rarely use it. And I don't back out of parking spaces - I back into them, for safer exits.I wouldn't say I'm avoiding the recall, just postponing it for a few months until I'm sure the fix actually fixes it.![]()
Call me paranoid (I'm) but if one of this days someone get into an accident and blame it on oem defects or malfunctions if you didn't do the recalls you gonna be on your own. They can say you by no doing the updates( wich are totally free) you're been irresponsable and disregarding other people safety. So yes, you gonna be on your own with the bills or situation.I skip all those little recalls myself. I know the risks and am accepting of them.
