I'm a big guy, 5'9" and big, LOL. I currently have a 2015 Chevy Equinox and I'm fairly comfortable in it. Before that I have always had trucks, hence why i put in an order for a Maverick. I was wondering if there are any other bigger people that already have a Maverick and how comfortable it is to you? Also never had a vehicle with a rotary shifter, is it possible to hit that with a big leg while in motion and cause a problem?

UPDATE: Had my Mav for a year now, very conformable even being overweight. Have done some great road trips accross the country.

what constitutes big?

at 6’3” and 330lbs, I’m a pretty big dude myself.

havent receive my maverick yet, but I sat In one, and recently drove a new escape (same basic interior layout) and had plenty of room in the seats, between door and console, and no where NEAR touching the shifter with a leg.

not sure that helps.

I am a little over 6 foot and almost 400, and I have sat in one, don't have mine yet. No worries about hitting the shifting knob and I was comfortable in the truck. It was plenty wide enough and had good room between the steering wheel and me.

Thanks, more wide issues than tall here. About 440 lbs currently.

Perfect, that is what I was hoping to hear. I've set a goal to be under 400lbs again by the time I get the truck. Which from sounds of it is a few months away, so should not be a problem. Already down over 30 in last 2 months.

5'9" 275.

Nah, it's pretty roomy. I will miss the adjustable pedals of my F150 but the Maverick does have tilt/Tele.

I find the rotary knob messes more with 40+ years of muscle memory of using a column/console/ or manual form of shifting rather than any accidental bumping issues.

Now this is completely a guess but.......since it's an electronic shifter there MAY be some safety designs built in such as shifting to reverse or park is impossible if the vehicle is moving. With modern sensors it would be easy to do.

I've dropped 41# in 6 months! One goal was to be more comfortable in the Maverick. When I saw a test Maverick at a dealership about 4 months ago, I didn't feel comfortable in it at all. However, when I test drove one a couple weeks ago, I loved it. I felt comfortable in it, and didn't feel crowded. Keep up the good work on losing weight. I'm no where near where I want to be, but I'm working on it.

I'm fall into the "fluffy" driver category also. This video put my mind at ease with my ability to be comfortable in a Maverick.

Overweight or not, I'm sure we could all stand to lose a few in 2022. Aiming for a 20lb loss myself. Changed jobs and no longer bust my ass outside any more. It was a fun job, but the Florida heat was brutal to work in.

6’0 220lbs. I’m short legged and long torsoed, my jean size is 36-38x30. Height wise and stomach wise, there’s plenty of room. The seat is where “wide hipped” people might prematurely wear out the seat. It’s very comfortable but the seat is kind of like a mini bucket seat. The side cushions that hold you in place aren’t super wide so if you have wide hips, you might be sitting on top of the bucket seat as opposed to inside of it. (Which can cause the side cushions to flatten out over time.)

I'm 6'5 285 I fit alright. I wish it was like 2 inches wider, and that they didn't put the start button down so low.

As a Catholic , no because he disregards tradition to appease a modern society and is involved in politics, but in regards to the original post, I'm also a fat 2015 equinox driver who fits equally well in the maverick.
I thought that the Pope is infallible. Must be you then, unless you want to have it both ways: "the Pope is infallible as long as I agree with him."

Don't mind me. I'm just an Atheist who couldn't help but stir up some shit here.
