Welp my 24 Maverick awd 4k bap 12k miles is done for, rearended on the highway on the way to the packers game. hopefully I can get the aftermarket parts off of it before the insurance takes ownership of the truck.

I have the front and rear dash cam video but it won't let me uploaded it here, says it's not a video as expected
Edit: maybe this will work:

Wow that Nissan was tailgating the car behind you so hard they blew by the car behind you and destroyed your driver side.. seems like everyone was able to stop except for that foolish individual… sorry you had to go through that..
Hopefully everyone is alright.

Yes we did, the orange equinox is our friends car they drove the rest of the way up there and back, one silver lining we only had to find one parking spot instead of 2 😀
Love the positive attitude

Such a beautiful truck, too. You did a great job on it. Hopefully insurance takes care of you!

Went to get my stuff out of the Maverick and took a few more pictures, the frame is a few inches shorter and the subframe moved up a bit. The part of the exhaust with the tips welded to has gone missing.

the second pic is what it should look like.

Wow, sorry for your loss. You would think that a decent body shop would be able to take care of that, but I guess not. I guess your unfortunate event is a lesson to all of us that our trucks are not indestructible. They are essentially origami made from sheet metal.

True, I have seen burnt out shells of a car turned into complete cars but it's all about time, cost and return on investment.
the repaired mavericks similar to my model/features and miles sell for 8k-10k less, the hail damage and labor that was already repaired was quoted $6300, I would assume front and rear bumpers, sensors, headlight, taillight front fender, rear quarter, 2 doors/skins, tailgate with paint and labor to get it back to "pre-incident condition" would be well above the price loss.
the time and money would be better spent on a rarer more valuble vehicle, parting out this vehicle would likey net a higher profit.

I had a friend get his F150 totaled by the insurance company and he parted it out himself before they took it. He had it towed to his house instead of the impound yard after the accident. That thing was missing everything of value when he finally let them have it. Even the transmission was gone. Wheels, everything. He couldn't get the engine out because it was a front end collision and it was pinned in there.

Don't feel bad for the insurance company because they eventually paid him about 1/4th what others of the same year and model were selling for at the time. So he left them with about a fourth of a truck.

If mine was totaled, I have a list of things I'll be keeping. Of course, I hope that never happens.

I sent them a excel spreadsheet with all the aftermarket parts listed with invoces/receipts for all of them, but I have yet to hear back from them, so I have no clue what they are going to do, it's not great that we both have the same insurance company, that is not to my advantage

My friend had allstate and they sent him a list of ads for trucks advertised for low ball prices. We called every one of them. The ads weren't real. My suggestion is that you go shopping now. Buy a used one of the same year and mileage. Then present them with a bill. They can't argue that's what it cost when you have a receipt especially if its from a reputable dealer.

Your comment implies that you don't know what you are talking about. Before making negative comments like that you need to check your facts. You clearly don't know anything about how things work. The truck belongs to the guy whose name is on the title. Until that changes, he can do what he wants with the vehicle.
