So my insurance paid out for the the totaled truck, paid off the loan, the rental car and a little injury coverage, as well as value above what I owned on the truck including a sad amount for installed accessories (10%), I used the money as a down payment on a new 2025 Maverick LOBO in Velocity Blue on Dec. 31st they gave me an extra $500 to get a few accessories so I got a free-ish bed cover.
I liked the Atlas Blue more than Velocity Blue but the extras make up for it, I will miss the Focus RS seats I had installed in the last truck, I got the set for $900 and I highly doubt I will be finding another set that cheap again, they wouldn't let me remove the seats without hitting me with a huge deduction ($2400+) and the frame on the passenger seat was bent and wouldn't recline so I probably wouldn't have be comfortable installing them in the new truck anyways, now I have to collect accesories to install which will probably pile up in the basement untill it gets warm out again(springs, control arms, bov, exhaust, tailgate assist, windor visors, mudflaps ect.).
not sure if I'll keep the Aerodisk rims yet or not but it will always be an option to resell them if i don't, as long as I don't curb them, I just wish they were a more popular bolt pattern.
so it mostly worked out... except... the transmission on the LOBO is messed up already.
The Ford dealership drove it up from Illinois so I figure if there was an issue they would have noticed something wrong, but from the dealership we went to the store that was directly across the street shortly after leaving there I noticed a vibration when stopped at a stop sign thought it was weird but it might just be because I have been driving a rental for the last few weeks and just never noticed it in the original Mav, grabbed a take and bake Pizza at the local pizza shop, left it running and stopped at my sisters house to drop off some food, after leaving there I noticed again at the stop sign, maybe worse than it was, but stops as soon as you let off the brake, drove it home (25 miles), when I got to town it was worse at the stop sign, got home, holding the brake the vibration was bad enough and rhythmic were it was upsetting feeling to my leg, nails on a chalk board upsetting, I turned off the Hvac fan, than could hear a grinding/growl in drive and reverse but goes away if I lift off the brake or put it in neutral or park, also there is a clunk when it is put into drive or reverse if you let it sit in park and idle a while the clunk is noticeably louder.
The next day (yesterday) I started it up and the sound/vibration was still there but a lot less noticeable not nearly as bad/loud, I drove it around a while and got it up to temp and the warmer it go the louder all the issues became vibration/sound/clunk the same if not worse than the night before, the dealership was closed for the holiday so I called today and the earliest they can look at it is Tuesday, now i have to take a half day and they might not have a loaner for me that day either... If you know the full story of my original Maverick(s), I think the universe is telling me I shouldn't owe a Maverick or something...
