My biggest gripe about that 4 1/2' bed is the fact there is not one in my garage. Count your blessings OP, you could be chewing on your fingernails like a lot of us wondering if there ever will be one in the garage. At least you have one and that is great!!!

And yet people applaud owners when they hang a 13’ kayak out the bed. Sheesh.
yeah it’s a baby truck, but a Ford Courier had a bigger bed and yet was smaller than a mav.

I am personally super annoyed that bed length wasn't published ANYWHERE before I bought mine...This is a annoyance about the Maverick. The bed is 6” too short.
On my way to the dump to rid some yard waste. A cheap ole garden tool fails to fit. Jeez Ford, if one of the target users is homeowners, garden tools should be a consideration.

Well, In my opinion, the designers have done a lot with the Maverick given the fact it is almost exactly the same length as my old 05 Ranger supercabb with a 6' box. Something had to give to get those 4 doors with the great front leg room and adequate rear leg room. Also remember the Courier was a regular cab truck, not even an extended cab.

I didn’t really intend on trolling with this topic when I posted, but it sure ended up getting a few rises.
yeah, the length of the bed was published but really, how many of us went into the shed/basement and measured out things we may toss in the back? The 25 bags of mulch I loaded up fit fine in the back. But those folding canopies for a picnic? Betcha the tailgate will have to go down.
