Got in my truck after work and there it was. "CoolWalk" split screen on my base XL Maverick. I'm not in the Android Auto Beta. So they flipped the switch on the server side. No recent Android Auto app update either. So it really was a server side switch they flipped for folks who had a reasonably recent version installed.

Yes, have it and is the second time I ever connected my phone with a usb as been using a beanbag mount Garmin sitting in the eyeglase dash just above the screen. Only had my Mav for 2 months and really liked Garmin up high so never have to look down for my current speed and seeing the speed limit and road layout.

Was not driving and by default 3 screens, 1 maps, 1 song playing and forget the third as changed to my phone when calling. After do some commands it did go to all one screen. Never tried pinching or stretching as thought that was a 2023 Lariat Lux new feature.

If only there was a quality anti-glare screen cover for the display. I use my cell phone in custom holder from cubby next to screen for navigation.

I've not had any problems with glare on mine, but I hear a lot of it is based on how tall you are. It apparently impacts the viewing angle quite a bit. I also live in Seattle and got my Maverick in December. So not a lot of direct sunlight to glare. Haha.

I'm 6'5" and haven't had any issues other than forgetting to turn up the brightness after a nighttime drive.

Dose not work on my mav XLT, but works in Mazda CX-5. I have android 12 one UI 4.1 and I sideloaded the latest androidAuto 8.6.625003 on my samsung s20 and still no split screen, nothing new on the mav.

It's a server side roll out so you pretty much can only wait for your turn.

Ugh. I didn't think Google could make it worse but they exceeded expectations. I run Waze and Tidal. When Tidal goes to the next track, it takes over the entire screen whereas with the old UI, it was just updated the Taskbar and allowed Waze to stay on screen. Add that to the stupid clock design that even my iPhone-using wife mentioned unprovoked, I'm wondering if the people who tested this thing ever sat in a vehicle.

Such a cluster.

Can't you turn down the brightness from the unit from the Ford settings?

There are buttons to adjust brightness to the left of the steering wheel. The screen gets very dim.

Still annoyingly bright to me. I suffer chronic migraines and am very sensitive to light.
