IMO I wouldn’t think anything substantial will change with low margin Mavericks until the usual refresh time frame MY25-26 be my guess

Yes you are dreaming. Is this a joke of some kind? I’d be thrilled if this was true, and this is coming from a Ford Dealers website. It would explain why they quickly dismissed a PHEV as they intend to make an EV version. States it will be announced this year and debut next year, if this is true this will be amazing!

The framework is there for a PHEV, and adapting into the Maverick won't be all that hard.IMO I wouldn’t think anything substantial will change with low margin Mavericks until the usual refresh time frame MY25-26 be my guess
you are forgetting the Tax Credits that come with PHEVs. I'm assuming a base XL would be under 35K, remember that a Hybrid Maverick is 10K less than an Escape. With the tax credit, the XL would be under 30, and XLT would come in at about 33-35K.I doubt it BUT let's say Ford does one in a few years. it would be in the 35K XL base model, Option out 49K. You still want one? Lets say gas is 3.5 a gal you average 40 mpg with current hybrid. and you drive 13K miles a year. So $1137 a year in gas. Electricity isn't free but lets say 300 a year in juice. I bet more but lets use that. So current hybrid is 837 a year more in fuel cost. Will you EVER make up the difference in initial cost? NO. All for a truck that would be a PITA to travel with. NOT me, NEVER for me.
Well we are all guessing. BUT I guess 10K more after any tax credit.you are forgetting the Tax Credits that come with PHEVs. Just look at the Escape Hybrid and what kind of tax credits it gets, the Escape is about 10K more than a Maverick, so it should give you a rough idea of what the Maverick "should" go for.Well we are all guessing. BUT I guess 10K more after any tax credit.
Power goes out guess what, gas pumps don't work either.I may be too far right compared to some-but I would NEVER be interested in a vehicle that needs to be plugged in to a monopoly controlled fuel source for it's only source of power. I don't have any other alternative electricity supplier in my town if it goes down , but there are at least 6 gas stations here in my small town of 2900 to chose from if one closes or has operational problems. I just don't get the fascination with all electric vehicles....
Yeah, lets be sure to support the big oil corporations. They definitely care about the little guy.Glad most stations around here have backup generators to run those pumps. I can fill up in 5 minutes-can your electric car do the same? (While using coal -fired generated electricity and precious metals imported from Africa and China mined by child slave labor)? I just don't get the "zero emissions " lie propagated by the left wing radicals .
