So OP probably just ordered in September and is giving up already...and is also upset over something that wouldn't impact their order and can be easily worked around with any handheld radio and an aux cable (among other solutions)?

Edit: ALSO giving up brand loyalty of 58 years over the radio thing...nuts!

Did I get that right?

I can understand being unhappy about losing the AM radio. In my last vehicle the antenna stopped working and I decided to just stream the main things I listen to: talk (news & sports) radio and baseball games. The pluses: much clearer sound and vastly more listening options. The minuses: drops in cellular internet frequently results in needing to restart apps, trying to get certain apps to even WORK at times,(esp. MLB’s), extra lead in commercials when connecting or reconnecting to an app, extra cost for certain apps (not all). Love having the AM radio in my 2022 Mav…a couple of touches of the screen and it works. When I want
I can still use my phone to stream. The more options the better.

Yeah, not something I'll lose much sleep over... The only things I seem to be able to pick up on AM radio these days are the super-stations down in Mexico and a couple of talk radio channels...
Seriously, how many million watts must those Mexican stations be cranking out? I'd hate to live near one of their transmitters...
I heard it, I heard it, I heard it on the X!

Yeah totally agree, I don't like losing features but at the same time I only have a couple AM stations programmed for local sports but I have found all local sports on FM now too. But at the end of day there's other ways to get to it.

Just get a radio app for your phone and play through the truck if you want AM. It's not the end of the world.

There are a lot of car manufacturers phasing out AM radios in cars and trucks nowadays...
I think that one of the big reasons that this is happening is because the electrical systems in electric vehicles tend to produce more electrical interference in the AM band, causing static, hissing, high pitched whining, etc.
With auto manufacturers focusing more and more of their production efforts on electric vehicles, it makes sense to me that they would try to keep something as simple as a radio as standard as possible across all of their vehicles to keep the price of the radio components as inexpensive as possible.

I miss in-car CD players much more than AM. I've had AM in my cars for far more years than a CD player, but in that same time frame, I've probably listened to the CD player much more. But, hey, MP3 player, or streaming radio, and I can live without the CD player, so I'm sure the options for AM are there as well.

I feel badly for my local Ford dealer as they have been great to work with but Ford at the corporate level is not helping the dealer nor me. Have waited for the Maverick order but the only news I have gotten is the dreaded 45 day emails so finally gave up hope and cancelled the order. The dealer will leave the order in I'm sure as it's a vehicle they can easily sell if it ever comes. And now I read that Ford is removing the AM radios in most 2024 vehicles so that is a deal breaker for me in buying a Ford. Have had Fords since buying my first new car from the local Ford dealer, a 1965 Mustang but no AM radio then no more Fords. I will be buying a new pickup of some kind but don't know what.
I hope you enjoy the vehicle you choose. Let us know what the ordering process is like with the new OEM.

If it was the AM radio that put you over the edge, your relationship with the Maverick was on shaky ground already.

Ford sucks, but there is no other Mav, and they know it.

I figure my kids are going to look at my 2023 Tremor - with the rusted pinch welds and the sewing machine engine, scratched to hell interior - but still kicking in 2040 - the same way I view my Dad's 93 F-150
