you're right, consider it a supplement to the FX4 plate.
yup. Extends forward from the FX4 plate to cover the middle of the bumper. Replaces 6 of the bolts used to mount the FX4 plate

No where enough Tremors out there yet though the Badlands might be close to fitting
For sure. Still Im thinking about adding solid reinforcement behind the plastic chin. That and maybe a expanded metal grate across the big opening. Just to protect from sticks. Still cant beleive I will be driving it this time next week. There is this river park right by Granger I hope we have time to do a quick mini romp at.

That HRG option looks pretty good for my use case - lowered 2022 2.0L XL non-FX4 - I just want some front bumper/undercarriage protection for when I eat curbs and speed bumps.

Those seem to be a good design for the BS so should work good for regular Mavericks. I haven't had the time yet really look at making something for my Tremor. I'm focusing more on replacing the felts in the middle and doing something about the rear under body overhang. I don't yet have a plan for either but it's brewing. I think I need to buy dimple dies and a finger brake for my press. I'm working on a off grid(like everything I got) water catchment system and car washing station for my 20x16 carport we built for it. Nice I do that I will have good reason to remove the felts and wash and treat it under then I can make a cardboard template and start the real figurin'!

Low profile aluminum strut channel to mount 1/8" aluminum plates to the frame. That's what I replaced the felt with.

:ROFLMAO: Wow, that's what I wanted to do with my Integra over a decade ago. Good job that looks very good. Do they make noise at high speeds?

No noise at high speeds, also no noise while off-roading. The gap between the body and the plates luckily doesn't whistle, if it did I'd fill it with weather stripping.

Good job!
Got any more pics of the channel or where you sourced it? Thickness/dimensions on it? Maybe where you mounted it? I haven't torn up my felts yet but when I do that project will be on my list.

Requisition for McMaster products:

This is an incomplete parts list, you don't have to use exactly what I did, but get creative and a lot of it just slots together and bolts on. You can also use a lower aluminum grade, I used what was available at my local metal supply store.

Dude this is amazing. I pulled off the felt and couldnt believe the Fuel and brake lines were right underneath it.

That's exactly why I made these. Because I take it out to the desert and don't feel like getting stranded.

Very nice. You went all out on the hardware. For mounting the channel did you use factory holes or did you drill where you had to? I actually have a lot of thick aluminum channel that I could cut down into various heights and lengths for the mounting channel. It's also thick enough to be drilled and tapped. I think I will line the edges where it touches the body with split tubing or something. If you ever get the opportunity you should put your camera on wide angle or fish eye and slowly drive over it while taking a video. I think a lot of people would love to see the overall shape and layout.

Again awesome job.

This is the aluminum channel I have. Came from a bridge. I use it for all kinds of stuff!
