I do not know if I have missed a post about this, but I am concerned about the undercarriage shield that seems to come standard. I have a 2017 Ford Escape that has one of these shields and it has been nothing but trouble since I got it. I trusted once an oil change shop and another time the Ford dealership here to do oil changes and together the two places lost screws and stripped others. Needless to say, I have stopped trusting anyone here to do anything I can do myself. But I have seen aftermarket shields made for Fords that offer a removable area to change the oil. Has anyone found an aftermarket shield for the Maverick or does the Maverick's shield have a removable piece to do an oil change without removing the entire shield?

No trap door in the factory setup to provide access, and I don't believe the aftermarket has come up with one either.

There are posts on here with details, but I think on a non FX4 you are looking at 12 or 14 fasteners. On the plus side the non FX4 shield is apparently very lightweight and easy to handle, I haven't dropped mine yet to see if I can come up with any options. I figure if it is a pain to remove then I will either add my own access "hatches" or see how much trouble it would be to swap in 1/4 turn fasteners.

The 1/4 turn fasteners are a good idea. I had this on my escape and after a while the thing gets beat up and the dealership stripped and lost some screws when my main block blew and they had to replace it. I'm hoping something aftermarket comes along to substitute this thing

I know this is an old thread, but since so much time has passed, I'm resurrecting to see if anyone's yet seen an aftermarket shield developed for this yet? Sure would make my and my mechanics life easier if the whole shield didn't have to come off just to change the oil. Kinda surprised none of the accessory/aftermarket folks have glommed on to this yet.

this is something that I copied from an old thread too! Where to cut holes to access the oil filter, drain plug, and such.

Yeah, I saw that, and I'm handy enough to do it, but lazy enough to not want to, 😆.

This is fairly straightforward molding, I'm still kinda surprised no one's jumped on producing them - even Ford. Can't think of many Mav owners who WOULDN'T want one, so long as it was reasonably priced.

An easier to manage aftermarket FX4 type skid plate would be great- Nothing on the market now that is "easy" with a filter cutout and the Air Scoop needed for the Eco/boost 4K package -
