If I remember correctly each side has a 12v line thats separately fused for 20 amps. I also think we get a pair of wiring pigtails that will connect to that plug.

Personally thinking of getting a marine grade 12v socket and installing it so its actually inside the storage cubby to run my little 12v air compressor.
It equals 240 watts which isn't all that much. You can run small electrics off it but nothing with a motor or that heats up.

Looks great. Did you use the pigtail or run a new wire? 20 amps should be enough from most stuff that will run from usb or a 12 v socket.

Pigtail and soldering with heat shrink.

Not an exact drop in, but this is the style inverter I use in my work van. Its good for about 10 amps at 120v, and has powered my key cutting machine, hammer drill, and sawzall more that a few time.

This one is my spare part, roll of electric tape for scale. Pretty sure it would fit on the back wall behind the seat, but can't actually size it up as I don't have my truck yet.

Where did you buy the inverter; and how much does it cost?

I got mine from Grainger. Looks like they no longer carry it though. (I looked while checking the price).

That thing looks pretty big. I'd be interested to see if it fits behind the seat.

I can measure it later on if you'd like to check. I don't have my Mav yet to test it with, and mine is coming with the 400w inverter already installed anyhow so I likely won't get one for myself.

(The one above is a spare part in the storeroom at work, not mine personally)

Nah, just curious. I don't have a truck either but it will have the inverter. I honestly have not been able to think of a single thing I'd need to run that takes over 400 watts.

The reason for the big one on the work van is for running power tools like the hammer drill when drilling concrete, or the key cutting machine for cutting keys.

I haven't run across anything that I plan to do that needs more than 400W with my personal vehicle.

Oh, sure, for the work stuff it's definitely necessary. For my daily driver 400 watts should be plenty. I had an external 1500 watt inverter for years, never used it so I sold it.

Many construction tools take 2 to 4 times that much.

Yeah people using it for construction will need a bigger inverter than just 400 watts. I don't. The most I'll need is to maybe power a laptop or charge things.
