I have the same feelings as you, I don't want to wait another 6 months for another one, so will work with this one. My wife's car has it and I like it and this was to be my last pickup with all bells and whistles.
Since this is to be your "last" pickup with all the bells and whistles, that sucks. Let's see, if my memory serves me correctly, I have bought 4 "last" trucks. At 76, I will still probably one or two more "last" trucks LOL.

I will be extremely disappointed if not downright angry if that option is missing when it comes in. Was shipped five weeks ago. My dealer did catch the change in the packages when the rollover happened last year. Original 22 order in October of 21. I see both sides of what happened, chip shortages so you rearrange options to allow more ala carte orders on the one side and price increase with the chance of mistakes on the other. The ACC was part of the Lariat Lux package, not the co-pilot 360, although that was mandatory also. This gave two places for the dealer and or customer to make a mistake, plus unless you were price protected somehow, the sum of the parts to get back to where you were, was much more expensive. Sure, I could get along without many things, but to wait more than a year and a half and then have it be less than expected would be heartbreaking.

You can check your window sticker or the order tracker to see if your truck has it before it arrives.

Rear Parking Sensors is the main reason I wanted 360 Assist added ( I caught that on first order day and had it added...). ACC is really nice to have in heavier traffic, but I could live without it.
I have found the rear parking sensors to be way better than any camera......

I am at 80, although my father lived to 97 and drove up until his last 3 months. So maybe I still have another one in the future.

ACC was the only reason I got the lariat in the first place, I would have been really upset if it showed up without it, could have saved a bunch of money getting an XLT instead. Sure, I've never had it before, and could live just fine without it, but with this being my first time spending over $10k on a vehicle, I didn't want there to be any thoughts of "I like it, but I wish I had this" a couple years down the road.

Always funny seeing people equate using ACC with being a bad driver just because they like to use a piece of tech to make their day to day lives easier. Why use cruise control at all when you can control your speed with your right foot, right?

You are just getting started. Told someone the other day about a friend who got mad big time because they would not renew her DL at age 101.

Omg I don't know how some people can drive. Let's see there is a car in front of me what shall I do. Per haps tap brake. Use foot on gas until car is not in my way then hit resume on the cruise? What a concept.
But it is so nice to be in ACC behind someone going slow and when you tap the 3 blink turn signal to pass the speed increases as you turn the wheel to pass unless, of course someone is in your blind spot. Note also that the 3 blink signal also turns off the lane centering until you are in the next lane.

Damn! At "only" 73, you guys are making me feel like a young whippersnapper. But I have been planning "just one more" whenever Ford comes out with an AWD Hybrid Maverick.

I literally have another Maverick ordered and scheduled for July that is an XLT Tremor because I thought I could get along fine without ACC. But in the 9 months since I ordered that truck, I've realized that I am not giving it up. And I doubt I'd hack on ACC to a XLT ecoboost.

I do regret ACC on my wife's Bronco because, inexplicably, it lacks lane centering. It's reduced to radar cruise control at that point because while it will nudge you back into a lane, it's not sufficient to take a curve in a highway and it definitely does not counter-steer into a crosswind. And the Bronco was $10K more than my Maverick. I knew of these feature/function differences but not exactly how it would matter until I was able to take long road trips in each of them.

Regarding your second point, there are people who drive without cruise control probably because they never invested the time to really learn how to use it efficiently, or they drive in such heavy traffic that you can't use cruise control unless it is ACC. And there's others who want manuals... 🤣

Have had ACC for 6 years on my RAV4. Would not buy a vehicle without.
Like the old commercial said, "Try it, you'll like it."

There are people that sill rant against disc brakes, radial tires, anti-lock brakes, safety glass and flush toilets.
Dang! I think I missed out on that "flush toilet" option when I ordered my Maverick... Must have missed it on the order guide! 🤣

In the real world today, I drove 150 miles (and back) to the nearest Mazda dealer to get a recall done on my wife's MX-5 Miata. Since it was for MAZDA Fuel pump failure, I felt the need to go with her in my Maverick to avoid its failure putting her on the side of the road.

So I decided to use my Maverick's ACC and get her take. We got to see what that was like with me in front of her. Her clear and concise response as a vehicle following was "Not A Fan".

The highway speeds were 65, 75 and 80 mph zones. I set my cruise for whichever zone we were in, and every time i came upon a car going slower, my cruise dropped to match the car in front of me, and she, who could not see over the Maverick in front of her, would get caught in a sudden slowdown with no brake light warning. That may not be an inconvenience for a person driving with ACC, but it damned sure was for her when following.

She is a careful driver, and we had no "incidents", but without some warning when my Maverick goes from 75 down to 60 fairly quickly because I had no room to move over into the passing lane and maintain the speed, I'd label ACC as a very inconsiderate way to drive, and suspect it would serve to make it much easier to get rear-ended by someone who would expect to see a brake light with such a sudden speed drop. For those reason, I'm not a fan, either.

Similar thing happened to me. I asked for it but that was from the 2022 website list of options. On 9/22/22, the 2023 website wasn't up yet and Ford changed the packages. I might order a 2024 and sell this one to get it and hopefully AWD too.
same that happened to me - kind of goofy/slimey for Ford to accept ‘23 orders before the ‘23 packages were known. Thanks to this forum I did go back to the dealership in January to have it added, but I forgot about the SIBL (that was included in ‘22 Lux package but not ‘23). At this point I’m at the “screw-it, just build my damn truck” stage. But it’s irritating and even perhaps deceiving that they reduced package content but increased price without giving dealers accurate information.

Order guides were released before the order banks opened. Ford never accepted new orders early. If you put in an early "order" before you saw these guides that's on you for relying on your dealer to get it right.

When using ACC slight slowdowns happen just like you would, a throttle lift and she wouldn't know either way. Any slowdown that uses the brakes also turn on the brake lights just like you would.
ACC isn't for everyone, it took me a while to get used to it but wouldn't like doing without it now.
