Acoustic Windshield

I notice a big difference in noise level between acoustic and non-acoustic windshield when I drive in the rain. Driving on the highway in rain - the rain impact sound and the wiper squeegee sound disappear. It's a noticeable difference, and I like it. Much less fatigue after driving on the highway in the rain for 30 minutes.

You are correct about the insurance companys keeping track of claims. I live in Florida, and when I renewed my policy, it stated that I had a claim for a windshield. They didn't raise my rate, but if I have a second claim of any kind, within a year, all hell breaks loose!In SC you don't get charged for a windshield either but we all pay higher premiums to cover the free stuff.Agree if you need a replacement make sure they fit the correct one. Your Florida statute only says deductibles do not apply but your insurance company keeps track of how many windshields they pay out on your policy or at least they do in SC.

I replaced my XLT cracked windshield with an acoustic and I noticed a big difference afterwards. I received my Maverick in November 2021 and recommend the acoustic windshield big time

In Florida windshields are replaced at no cost (still count as a claim though) and there are a lot of windshield replacement companies. I wonder if you can get an acoustical one from one of them or only at Ford?
I think someone posted over 2k. Try search for it?
Safelite replaced my acoustic windshield a few months ago. The receipt shows $776 List Price, $457 selling price. Total was $889 with labor and recalibration($250.) They told me they ordered it from Ford.
I only paid the $100 insurance deductible.

I believe it has sensors etc for the adaptive cruise control.
Aaarrrggghhh!!!! Now I guess I have to watch for a "the bird poop on the windshield looks like extra lane is this ok?" Warning screen.
Did you replace it yourself, have it done by Ford, or have it done by Safelite? Also, does your XLT have the luxury package? I am trying to work out whether there would be any sensor issues switching from one to the other. We have the heated seats and wipers, which means the base of the windshield warms up when the heated feature is in use. May I assume the acoustic glass used for Lariats includes that feature or do I need to ask for it? Does the XLT windshield have another other sensors? Thanks so much. We took a rock this week and have a large crack across the driver's side, and need to get the glass ordered. Looks like it'll take weeks to come in.
Also, I don't have the adaptive cruise control, so no recalibration needed, thankfully.
