Was installing the floor liners and sear covers today. Had the truck unlocked. Notice it a lot of random clicking coming from the hood. Any one else experience this?

I do and my wife asked me about it when she was waiting in the truck for me. I think it is a hybrid/Maverick thing.

It's alive! Totally normal. Mine seems to click every time I go in the garage.

Haha did the same too, went to lowes and she waited in the car. Came back and she was like you know your truck clicks sporadically?

My last three vehicles have made clicks and whirs for several minutes after turning off as control units go through shut down.

It’s normal. Mine does it. Not sure why it does it. My guess is it pre energizes the system to get ready to start. I also think this has something to do with it going into deep sleep. Why can’t it do it once the key is put in the ignition.

My Hybrid also clicks quite cheerfully as I approach it. I think it's glad to see me. It sounds like an electrical relay - or several electrical relays.

I have an EcoBoost, too. It has the exact same equipment packages, XLT Luxury with 360. It does not click. Maybe it's not glad to see me. It seems almost sullen in comparison.

The Hybrid clicks don't just occur when it is starting up or shutting down. If I walk up to it to get a tool, it still clicks.

It's the hamsters that turn the wheels running around during their down time.

Both our Maverick and Mustang does this. Very Normal operation

I think because of the clicking in hybrids, that’s why they recommend not letting it set for more than 2 weeks without it starting as that may have an impact on running down the 12v Battery.

I’ll be trying the ford pass remote start this summer when we are away to see if that indeed helps.

Hybrid or AWD they all click. It’s all the power relays…procedure to power ECMs up and down. To save battery but keep the vehicle in the state of ready for remote start etc. Now I have no clue why Ford vehicles are so loud…my Toyota and Honda have never sounded like an orchestra in my garage 😂

My XLT EB with basic equipment does it too. It seems like it mostly does it after sitting overnight when I go into the garage.
