And I'm over here, having yanked the rearview mirror off every truck I've owned except my current Nissan Frontier. Only reason that one is there is because it has the outside temperature display.

I've always had something blocking the view (tool boxes, racks, other equipment, topper with no windows, etc), so I couldn't see out the back anyway.

Here to see what options people have. I also don't like the stock mirror.
My subaru had auto-dimming mirrors and I really appreciated them. I've already found myself irritated with bright headlights shinning into my eyes from both the side and rear view mirrors. Makes driving at night more of a chore.
I have the same car as you. I'll miss the auto dimming and homelink.

Since you have a subaru impreza...
My maverick is quieter, more comfortable, the sync3 system is more responsive, the heated seats are warmer, having remote start is just as great as I thought it would be.
I miss having a gear shift to rest my hand on but after 3 days I'm starting to get used to it.

Great to hear! Remote start sounds more useful to me than push button start. I decided to get the XLT trim over the Lariat. It didn’t seem worth the extra cost for what I want.

I have finally had it with the rear view mirror in my XL. No matter what position I'm sitting in it seems to be off and in the wrong spot when I look in the mirror. Its too small. I know one of the other Ford models must have a larger mirror that uses the same mounting system. I DO NOT WANT one of those goofy mirrors that clip over the factory one. Before I spend a lot of time looking/researching on eBay I figured I would ask you guys. I don't want something fancy or complicated, just bigger like from a larger Ford truck or something.

Thanks

.
Have you thought about replacing it with one that has a built-in camera? If you are replacing it, may as well do an upgrade at the same time.

Get a broadway mirror. I’ve had one on all my cars since I can remember (including my XL maverick). Doesn’t look goofy to me. It looks rather clean and unobtrusive. Visibility is superior to any OEM design I’ve experienced.

NAPOLEX Broadway BW867 300mm (11.81") Convex Aluminum Plating Mirror | New Model of 2021
I've tried a few of the wide angle convex mirrors and didn't like them. They gave a wider view but the cars behind me looked smaller and further away. How is the broadway?

i believe they make a convex and flat version where the image is not distorted. I have the latter and it is honestly great. No complaints as my field of view/image quality is increased a good amount.

Don't you lose the night dimming function with these?
Probably, I just set it up where I can flip it upward with the mirror lever to point toward the headliner. I don't normally ever use it but it's there for when I get that occasional "blinder" behind me. Think it will work just fine.

I'm glad I'm getting the Ford 360 to make up for this.
I have the 360 as well (which I am very pleased with) and just added the Broadway today based on the comments here. So far only driveway tested, but a lot more rear/side visibility and doesn't look obtrusive or goofy. Actually is a better size for the Maverick IMHO. Even with the 360, I still like the extra visibility.

I don’t know if bigger would be better to me. It seems like it blocks a lot of forward vision already. Kind of in the center of the windshield.

@DIYDad Is is the convex or flat mirror you have? It was the convex one in the link posted earlier but this sounds like you actually got the flat one.

For those with Broadway Mirrors, do you prefer the Flat or Convex? I added the convex one today and greatly improves rear vision...am wondering how much less for the flat one as I could still return it. Maybe I'll order one anyway and send back whichever one I like the less. I don't see paying almost 2X for the blue tint, not even sure it would help that much.
