I suppose you'd rather see them twitching along the road after being hit by a vehicle, starving to death, dying a slow death from disease? Deer are a prey animal with not nearly enough predators to keep them in check and in healthy numbers. Nature is a cruel bitch, time for a reality check.I would rather see a human being (adult male) blasted and decapitated than watch a defenseless animal killed.
As we go about our busy lives, the sight of deer dashing in between cars on a busy roadway is a sight that has become too familiar in New Jersey. With the deer population rising exponentially, our communities are faced with drastic consequences.
To combat these problems, many towns have authorized government-sponsored deer hunts. Many believe hunting is an effective solution to the current deer epidemic, while others believe hunting to be morally unjust. While hunting may seem like a cruel practice, it can be beneficial to both the environment and the deer population as a whole, if regulated properly.
Despite killing individual deer, hunting is beneficial to the deer population because there is not enough food to sustain their current numbers. Every herbivore has natural predators that keep its population in check to prevent environmental damage and unhealthy population sizes. There are not enough predators in New Jersey to keep the population in check, and if we do nothing, deer will continue to rise in numbers until they run out of food and starve to death.
