Okay, I will let you go back to folding up your tin foil hat. For everyone else in the real world, material statements by a senior officer of a publicly traded company are vetted by legal and nobody at that level would jeopardize their career. Thats why Elon Musk was sued by the SEC over a tweet saying he was taking the company private and now has to pre-clear twitter posts. No Magnesium shortages do not have to effect all vehicle manufacturers, when it’s pretty clear it only impacts those that purchase from China. Inflation is an issue but not for the reasons suggested, rather MSRP’s will likely be going up in MY2023. And higher prices cause lower demand, which helps manufacturers achieve equilibrium.

Guess the conspiracy nuts haven’t heard about US Magnesium the largest producer of Magensium in North America:

Not a conspiracy. The magnesium shortage is real look it up.

But the thread is about will it impact your Ford Maverick order for 2022? And the facts say, no it will likely not. So yeah the original OP is a joke by taking a dealership at face value. And we have a magnesium producer in Salt Lake City Utah that’s a major supplier for all of North America. That backs up what Ford CFO said that they donā€˜t use Chinese magnesium, so again we arrive at little to no impact.

Well at least it's not a chip shortage.
Well ... I heard from my dealer that they are now putting chips in tires. That way they can connect the tires to the Internet, and still cheat us out of the cruise control that we didn't pay for. It all works together so that Ford can cheat hybrid buyers out of their right to a truck(lette) in the fall. Otherwise, they would be building 4wd hybrids, of course. And the magnesium shortage means that the aluminum hood flutters at highway speeds. So, they will not be installing that second hybrid battery pack, just to rip us off. But the good news is that even with the magnesium shortage, there remains plenty of steel for making the XL wheels!

I can’t talk a lot about Magnesium, aluminum or rubber shortages but if you take a quick look at another MTC thread you will see production numbers that just rips apart the OP’s worries that are a byproduct of a questionable dealer (imo all dealers are questionable especially MY dealer) 😳

November production numbers of over 6,311 units and total production numbers of over 20,389 units for a new truck that has only been in production since September is not bad at all.

We can argue and agree that the way Ford chooses specific trucks to be built, and their previewing and dealer allocation formula is wack, our time stamp reservation and orders are almost meaningless etc. But they have been building thousands of trucks just not our trucks.

Even at this pace they should build all 2021 reservations/orders within 4-6 months, that doesn’t sound like a magnesium or aluminum or a tire problem.

I think they did blow the planning and demand calculations on the hybrid, and we have known for months about the battery issues.

You can believe what you want to believe and from whomever you want to believe it from but that dealer inside information just sounds like a huge pile of šŸ’© hidden inside of a friendly pastry 🄮.

Just my humble opinion.

I reserve the right for anyone with more accurate information to add or delete from this opinion.

Yeah I picked that up. I’m not worried. In real life, I’m probably considered overeducated. And still, not smartest person in the room but smart enough to hire them. To each their own. No problems with our northern, or southern neighbors and wish the OP all the best making decisions with rumors. I have enough experience to know better. I didn’t come by my sunny disposition naturally. It took years to evolve into the skeptic that i am, lol.

I'll take mine without tires - even I can find those:)
I just had to replace a blown tire on my daughters car. It took a whole 2 days to get it from Discount Tire.

And if they have a shortage of rubber tires, they can always go back to the way that Henry Ford originally did it and put wooden wheels on it.

This thread delivers.....

Actually had to take a couple breaks while trying to read some of the comments. At times I felt my IQ dropping, trust me I can’y lose even 1 point. One of my go-to’s is doing multiplication tables. If I can get to the 4’s without my calculator I’m good to go.

At minimum, a shortage of anything plus inflation will likely make msrp sticker prices go way up.
