I would definitely add it, it's such a cheap option and if you use it to tow more than 2000 pounds once or twice it'll have nearly paid for itself.
Plus you'll benefit from the transmission cooler and upgraded radiator every day.

It's like asking if you should add aux switches in a Bronce. The answer is always yes.

I didn’t add it to mine but I probably should’ve, I opted for the FX4 package instead as it had some of the components of the 4K kit minus the cooler and the 7 pin.

Fx4 here without 4k tow . I would have ordered it if for nothing else resale value but bought my truck off dealer that had it available at msrp in 10/21 . So far so good with my truck . Have some upgrades with fx4 but imo 4k towing package well worth it . I do have hitch with 4 pin plug for 2k towing .

Just ordered a 2025 lariat 10/04

should I get the 4k tow?

never towed nor have a reason too.

effect mpg?resale?
I would get it regardless. I routinely get 30 - 34 mpg with my 2022 4k tow Lariat on trips of 50 miles to 1000 miles using eco setting and cruise control. Mileage is not an issue.

Hunters Edge pretty much sums it up. Transmission oil cooler, larger radiator and cooling fan. I may never tow anything but I ordered the package just for these items.

I bought my 23 Lariat off the show floor and it came with AWD and 4K tow a well as many other options. I typically get 35 mpg highway with A/C on not towing so I don't know how much better it could be. Also the heavy duty cooling for engine and transmission can hurt either.
Hot pepper read with BAG.

One of the biggest factors influencing resale value is price inflation. A 2025 costs $3K-$7K more than an similar 2022 when it was purchased new. So someone selling their 2022 for what they paid for gives the illusion of holding resale value when an equivalent replacement vehicle will cost much more to purchase. A good post on the Maverick price increases: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/maverick-price-progression.55587/
If Ford continues driving up the new price, resale values will follow. I doubt that's what anyone wants.
BS watch a recession and see how resale takes a tank. That's just one issue. Supply and demand depicts value nothing more nothing less. Just look at what happened in the past during COVID no new inventory and used vehicle prices skyrocket. Supply and demand for years a 4x4 in the fall and a convertible in the spring all adds $$$ because of the demand. What price increases do is increase the demand for less expensive vehicle and that would be a used one. A person would be an absolute idiot to pay the same money for a used vehicle with mileage and loss of warranty if they could buy the same vehicle new with no mileage and a complete factory warranty. Vehicles go up do to inflation and at times for profit. Vehicles prices are not set by just profit but what the market will bear.

I can remember back in the 80' an escort was not much difference than a F150 to produce, with the exception of raw material. Trucks could pull more money or the consumer would pay more for it. Again prices are set what the market will pay. Just look at some rebates back in the day and what's happening at Stellantis right now. I bought a 2008 F150 crew cab 4x4 with a manufacturers rebate of 12000, where do you think that money came from? Those were some hard times in 2007 many homeowners couldn't sell their homes because they were worth 30% less than what they were purchased for.

There is something to be said for the phrase "competition is good for the consumer". Looking forward to other manufacturers offering small trucks for that and to compete in quality. Thus one reason why monopoly's are illegal in the US.
