Interesting. I guess I could have gone this route rather than transferring my massive CD collection to and SSD. I do have a very nifty BT CD player I use as well.

my first car - '67 ford fairlane came had an AM radio - I upgraded with a FM converter mounted under it, a Realistic cassette player way over there in the glove compartment, a 'reverb' unit under the Fm converter, installed rear speakers and a fader along with a multi selector switch. I had the biggest mess of wire known to man under the dash and every once in a while yep - a fuse would blow. Eventually I had enough of that and started sorting thru the wires (with my questionable black tape job) and found one errant connection that was too close to some piece of steel and caused it to short out when I hit a big enough bump. What a mess!My Dad's '72 Grabber Blue 4dr Mav had an 8 track.. with speakers sitting on the back desk.. That's when I was introduced to the Carpenters, the Beatles and Johnny Cash..
Ah..memories.
Now my '22 Velocity Blue 4dr Mav is making memories with Metallica, Queensryche, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, In This Moment, Nightwish (w/Floor), and others. Lol
I have that option and Spotify, etc. but I also happen to own several hundred CDs that I enjoy listening to.I use my own USB stick with my choice of music.
Tinkercad and a digital caliper.Nice work!
Do you use a special 3D print program to design such a thing? Like just enter plug diameter here? etc?
Otherwise, way to complex for me to produce!
I would have to make one out of wood!![]()
I'm having trouble picturing how this fits in the truck, any pictures showing it in use? There's no place in the interior to set this CD player I bought so I 3D printed this little tray. The round bit fits snuggly in the cigarette lighter and suspends the player up out of the way without taking up any storage space.

When you answer a survey like that or respond in any manner to ANY query what so ever you get flagged and instantly added to a data mining list and your info gets sold. Two days ago I received an email from Ipsos.com concerning "Vehicle Technology Satisfaction " for my 2025 Maverick FWD hybrid.
I did my best to let them know about my lack of a CD player option, lack of multiple sorting functions on flash drives, not being able to save driving option preferences, lack of analog switch functions, etc...
Your CD player option is great! Let us know how it holds up!
Yes, I know, I would have chosen the analog or dinosaur package if it was available!
But eyes on the road not hunting and pecking on a center display for small little square tiles!
It doesn't take long driving an analog car to build muscle memory for all the frequently used buttons and switches. With eyes on the road it's easy just to reach and change your functions. Radio, heat a/c, seat heaters, etc...
If get the email survey, tell them what you like and don't like.
As always, just my opinion!

The content of several hundred CD's will fit most any size Flash Drive....And so much more convenient to carry around. I found it so much better to put all like music on to separate Flash Drives (USB drives...same thing). FLASH drives are indestructible not so with CD's...so much better sound with Flash Drives.I have that option and Spotify, etc. but I also happen to own several hundred CDs that I enjoy listening to.
The degredation I have on CD is from mild scratches and flexing from cold and heat...which you don't have with flash drives. It is a good idea to copy CDs to a SSD and/or Flash Drive. Much more convenient.
It is also a good idea to keep the CDs, because drives can and do fail.
Regarding sound quality, it is impossible for a copy of a CD to sound better than the WAVE file on the CD. Either what's on the drive is an identical copy of the original, or it is compressed to a degree. 320 kbps MP3 is essentially the same as the WAV file (very little loss) but lower bit rates like 128 or 192 kbps sacrifice some quality for reduced file size.
So you ripped the CDs while they were still in good shape, and they became damaged later? The degredation I have on CD is from mild scratches and flexing from cold and heat...which you don't have with flash drives.
Yes, by loaning them out. By some of my favorite CDs (at least 200-300) are 20, 30 years old.So you ripped the CDs while they were still in good shape, and they became damaged later?
Clearly you are too generous.Yes, by loaning them out. By some of my favorite CDs (at least 200-300) are 20, 30 years old.
