Not trying to be argumentative, but would you mind sharing a link to a site that says that any given brand of fuel has different levels of additives from one octane grade to another? I'm honestly curious because I've never heard that before.
What I have seen are many articles and videos that...
First, IDK. I don't work for an oil company, but what I've read/seen over the years, from a variety of sources, is that all octane grades have the same amount of additives.
Many/most people may be aware of this, but while overinflation can give the impression of better handling because turn-in is quicker, the more pressure the less rubber on the road, so ultimate grip is lower.
Clearly you are too generous.
You're lucky you copied them before they became damaged. That's the only way audio quality from a drive can exceed that of the source (CD).
If you haven't already done so, you might consider making a backup since the CDs are in poor shape.
It is a good idea to copy CDs to a SSD and/or Flash Drive. Much more convenient.
It is also a good idea to keep the CDs, because drives can and do fail.
Regarding sound quality, it is impossible for a copy of a CD to sound better than the WAVE file on the CD. Either what's on the drive is an...
At the risk of repeating myself -- there are some cops that seriously frown on radar detectors and jammers.
Those that do have strong feelings against them may want to punish people who use them. Detectors are legal, so the cop obviously cannot do anything about the detector directly. What...
Not trying to be argumentative, but it's impossible for any of us to know every piece of equipment a cop does or does not have.
It does stand to reason that at least some cops take a very dim view of any detectors/scanners/ jammers -- anything used to premeditatedly break the law.
Personally...
What I've heard from LEOs is that some of them have an attitude when it comes to detectors, and esp jammers. Their thinking is that it's one thing to inadvertently speed occasionally, but it's something else entirely to spend hundreds of dollars on a device that has the sole purpose of helping...
I haven't been 'in the game' for several years, but I definitely recall that radar detector detectors were in use in states like VA (just to our south) where detectors were (are?) illegal. Most Marylanders would unplug and stash detectors in VA.
The best way to avoid tickets is to not make a...
There are some cops like that. I've gotten my share of warnings, some for the same (80/55). I've also received tickets for 61 and 62 in a 55.
It's a crap shoot.
A cop pulled me over one night for 80+/55. I thought for sure I was getting a ticket. We were talking a bit and I mentioned that...
Yeah, if a driver is by themself, they're getting lit up.
The scenario I referred to is when it's a group of drivers speeding (which is fairly common) and the cop is deciding who to write up, they may turn on their radar to see who hits their brakes and give them the award.
As I said somewhere...
IDK how often this happens, but cops will sometimes shoot a group of speeding cars from behind to see if any drivers immediately hit their brakes, in order to decide who to pull over.
I did a quick search and it looks like it is rare. One exception is your home state of PA, because apparently municipal depts are not allowed to use RADAR or LIDAR.
My wife and I travel all over the country and occasionally see the VASCAR lines on the highway. Many may be left over but some...
FWIW, there was a recall on the FLA batteries in all Bronco Sport trims. They were replaced with a Motorcraft AGM for free. Our FLA was fine but still replaced.
I can't remember if that recall applied to other models. It seems likely that they'd use the same batteries.
I'd be more worried about that red vehicle in the garage.
Speaking of hiding the detector, IDK how often this happens but I've heard that cops following a group of cars that are all speeding will pulse their RADAR to see who hits their brakes -- to determine who has a detector, and then...
IDK how extensive the use of drones is, but if the cops go back to using VASCAR, detectors are obviously worthless against that.
The Valentine One was always a top-rated detector, but needless to say, no detector can work if the RADAR is left off most of the time (which most cops do). In order...
WRT comments about velocity -- a common opinion people have is that everyone driving faster is a maniac, and everyone driving slower is a moron.
There are many variables -- road condition; weather; type of vehicle and its condition; driver experience and skill; amount of traffic, etc...
Well, 'not too old' is relative. I'll be eligible for Medicare in a couple months. Hogan's Heroes was one of the shows my brother and I watched regularly.
I found a clip from Hogan's Heroes that includes that scene -- it's toward the beginning:
To be honest though, while I...
