interesting, but why such low output? can it play that low at 90 or 95 db?Setting the EQ to "flat" removes the haystack boost at 65Hz or so, and removes the rapid rolloff below 55 Hz (see atatched). The haystack makes for a very "one note" thumpy aftermarket subwoofer, with little very low frequency (25 to 50 Hz) content. Setting the ssytem for "flat" removes the haystack and also the rolloff, yielding a flatter LF response with extension down to 25Hz or so. The sub is MUCH easier to optimize after making that change.
I bought a 6.5" Kicker, as it was very compact and fit on the back cabin wall, behind the seat. Also added adhesive butyl damping sheets to the entire rear cabin wall to reduce rattles and buzzes.
Tapped the rear speakers and the left and right rear door sills.
I did put a fuse the 12v batt feed, so that if the 8ga 12v supply wire were pinched or cut, ot wouln't be a unlimited current short to body or seat hardware.
