Interesting that they claim a 3-day replacement timeframe. When my 2018 Escape suffered from the ":coolant intrusion" problem, it took them 6 weeks to replace the short block.

Hmm, Which Escape engine was thatn 1.5 or 2.0? Just curious. We still have a 1.5 2017 Escape.

it was the 1.5 4-cylinder.

Thanks. That's what my wife has in her 2017. No issues yet. There was a recall that lowered the coolant temp a few degrees.

My '22 hybrid Escape has the same engine as my '22 hybrid Maverick,, 2.5L. See my attachments to my notice I posted. earlier last night. It lists both my Maverick and Escape in the letter they sent me.

And just think, I was recall free as of the middle of June. I knew it wouldn't last long.

Just a short block would require transferring a lot of components over (heads, timing, exhaust, intake). A long block is pretty much a complete engine out of the box less accessories which are minimal on a hybrid as it is.

Received my letter yesterday on my 22 hybrid, 47k miles i am second owner and i have only had it 6 weeks. I have had no issues with its performance EXCept for the replacement of 3 dead batteries!! No reason found, last "explanation" was Bad Batch! Do i trust these guys with long block replacement if they refuse to look into causes of 3 battery replacements in 6 weeks. I seem to be doing better with the last battery which they assured me they picked up at a different location/warehouse. They had their fingers in their ears when i asked them to look into the wire harness crimp/soldering issue or 300 fuse. In the meantime i never let it sit idle longer than 1 day, drive it at least 45min/15miles, each time i start it, No lights on, no AC, fans on, i have turned off FordPass and Wifi, lock with fob and keep fob in Faraday pouch, never leave doors or tailgate open if truck isnt running. i turn the radio on while driving and turn it off when i stop cause if i cant have the tunes blasting whats the point!!! All suggestions found on this forum. My Son says this is craziness and to drive it like my old 21yr old F150 ! I have no faith in that and wish i could get my old truck back! Loyal Ford owner since 1974 and not happy.

In my mail today: Ford is providing a no-charge Customer Satisfaction Program that had me blown away. FMC is providing a one-time replacement of the engine block assembly (if needed) free of charge for 10 years or 100,000 miles from the warranty start date of the vehicle. "If needed" means that if you get an illuminated Malfunction Indicator Lamp with diagnostic codes of P1061 and/or P032F and/or a knocking noise from the engine. I won't bore you with all the details (there's not that many), but one nice thing is that coverage is automatically transferred to any subsequent owners.

Although it is a bit discerning to have engine block failure in the first place, Ford's commitment to fixing the problem is admirable. Of course, I say this without knowing if they were forced by legal or federal jurisdiction to do so. Until I know otherwise, I have to give Ford credit for stepping up.
