2026 tail gate remote lock up grade

I’m wondering if the 2024 tail gate actuator JB3Z-994317A & cable assembly NZ6Z-14A412-C can be used to upgrade a 2026 Lariat that didn’t come with that option?

Might want to check with your dealer, it might be not working. Warrant would cover it if that’s the issue. Only the XL trim doesn't have a power locking tailgate.

Do you have a light come on under the tailgate handle when you unlock? If not, the harness that goes into the tailgate is probably not plugged in.

Thank you for the clarification, I haven’t got the 2026 yet. I just assumed, because it was an option on the build system that they didn’t come with it.

The remote lock (with doors) is standard on your Lariat. I think you may be confusing with the optional "hinge" lock that prevents the tailgate from being removed once open.

OK, but there is no remote locking "option" on a Lariat. Can you show what you were looking at?

tailgate is the same as a door- you can lock/unlock with the sensor on front door handle (3 raised lines), the fob or the Ford app. As stated, the Lariat has everything, don't let anybody sell you anything other then the sunroof or sliding rear window ($995, 350).

I’m guessing it’s the lock/unlock in sync with the other other doors. I hate it. Nothing worse than coming up to the truck with a cart full of groceries or an armful of something and have to reach in your pocket to get the fob to unlock it. The Maverick could badly use the escape’s wave your foot under the back to have it unlocked.

I've not purchased these but am curious if anyone has. I too have a 2025 XL and the local ford dealer said these were the parts needed:
JB3Z 9943170 B Control - this seems to be a common part regardless of vehicle year.
SZ6Z 14A4112 BA Wiring Assembly. This last number is different than the 2022-2024 wiring harness.
If anyone has used these please let us know how they worked. FYI Our XL has the towing package and Ford Copilot 1.0.
