Hey all,

Just purchased a 2026 Maverick Lobo this past week and have just under 300 miles on it. Of course now since joining different online forums Im seeing the trans issues that people are having with the 2022-2025 EB models.

I’m assuming the trans is the same on the non lobo EB models, anyone with a higher mileage 2026 model having a premature signs of issues?

I just need to ease my mind a bit 🤣.

Factory warranty, no extended warranty.

Nice LOBO! welcome to the club. What is the problem with your 8F35 Transmission? Yes they are both the same EB 2.0L, Tremor, Lobo. Your 8F35 in the Lobo just skips 8th gear.

No issues on mine, although I am over worried from seeing a mass amount of issues from others. Lol

There is not enough data for the Maverick yet there were issues on the older ones in different applications. There has been some issues with it yes. The 8F35 no widespread issues. Just make sure to change the ULV fluid every 30k drain & fill only! And drain & fill the PTU & RDU as well.

Very good info on the 8F35

It skips second gear. The standard 8F35 skips second gear in normal driving as well, and it's programmed to only be used at very low speeds. The Lobo just completely locks out second so it's never used

My 25 Lobo gets the popping out of AWD at low speeds when 10-15mph. Like rolling a stop sign and not coming to a complete stop or rolling slow thru a turn lane and taping the gas. it will make a pop sound feels like you run something over or a gear binding. its done it 2 or 3 times just under 5k miles on the truck. All the crap ive read in the net says its the AWD RDU popping disengaging.

Transmission failure/shutter seem to be the most common issue for Maverick EB owners, across all model years, that I see here and other Maverick communities for what it's worth.

You are seeing people's bias towards reporting bad news instead of reporting good.

Here's some good. I've got 4700 miles on my Lobo, and it's done a dozen or so autocross "race" events. So far so good.

As you have undoubtably seen, top off the diffs (RDU FDU or whatever TLA's are correct) and the trans as soon as practical, do not wait. My front diff probably was only 1/2 full. And they barely hold any oil.

I've got about 3K miles on my Lobo and I have noticed similar noises. I had a 2024 Lariat and it was a gem. But getting into the lobo and living with it I have noticed the brakes are very slow to grab and the more you put into it I have gotten the wheels to lockup twice.

I have also noticed a clunk or weird binding/engaging noise when I go from reverse to drive. I was hoping to mod it but I am going to hold off now. I havent done my first service yet, but I am considering making them replace all the fluids to see if that might be the issue, but the brakes. I'm really not sure what to make of it right now lol.
