How do I install Ford Connected Navigation updates?

Based on your Ford vehicle model and your in-vehicle SYNC® Technology touchscreen, you may either receive updates automatically or you will need to request them online. Keeping your SYNC maps updated improves accuracy and helps you find more efficient routes, saving time and money. Ford vehicles equipped with SYNC® 4 Technology will automatically receive map updates through software updates during the complimentary trial and subscribed service periods. Full map updates occur once per year. Updates for the radius you drive most often occur quarterly.

What happens if my Connected Navigation trial ends and I do not renew?

2024 and earlier vehicles with Connected Navigation
Reverts to a "moving map" with no destination routing functionality if Connected Navigation is not renewed after the trial ends.

Reverts to Embedded Navigation with no Connected Navigation services (e.g., live traffic) if Connected Navigation is not renewed after the trial ends.

What features are included in the Connectivity Package?
Features vary by model and trim but may include:

Using google maps I get the turn by turns in the speedometer, doesn’t work with Waze unfortunately.

Hopefully this will continue once the trial ends. I believe I turned it on with FORScan.

With regards to the premium video streaming. I’m assuming that just means with the hotspot to your device.

I don’t think you can play video on the entertainment screen without a dongle.

Works with Apple Maps, too.

Google maps and even Apple maps are so much better than any car manufacturer navigation systems.

This. I was so blown away by Google maps on my 2026 Lariat's giant display that I never even considered Ford navigation.
