So I'm now at 30 miles and it's still at the same spot as after only 8 miles.

DTE can be highly variable. It is based on what the mpg was for what appears to be the last 50 miles. If you switch from city driving to highway, you can watch the DTE increase as you drive. I once did an 80 mile highway trip and my DTE was higher at the end than the start. The opposite is also true;after a highway run, you'll be surprised at how fast the DTE decreases in town.
Unfortunately it's still the most accurate way of keeping track of the fuel level as the gauge is worthless.

25 Hybrid lariat, I think each 1/8 tank is about 1 1/2 galllons and the reserve is the same. So about 13.5 gallons. What’s bad is that in my hybrid the miles per 1/8 varies widely from anywhere between 30-60 miles per 1/8 tank then when you get to last 1/4 tank it increases to 100 miles. I’ve gotten where I use the DTE and fill up before it reaches 100 DTE. I much prefer the instrumentation on my wife’s 24 hybrid lariat. I don’t even like the info screen heat/ AC and sync 4. Only part I like is the larger size. I much prefer buttons and knobs. Sync 4 is a pain because you have to hold steering wheel button down to talk to iPhone.

Does any one else think theirs is wacky? Today I filled up with gas and the Line was right at the full mark and drove 8.1 Miles to work and the Mileage showed 25.1 MPG but the Gas Gauge showed it used an 1/8 of a tank in those little bit of miles. I have noticed it before doing the same thing it showed 1/4 tank I looked again a little later and it dropped an 1/8 of a tank like Today.
Ford knows about this issue.

SSM 54290 2025 Escape/Maverick - IPC With 8-inch Display Only - Fuel Gauge Displays Up To 8th Mark Below Full Fuel Level When The Fuel Tank Is Full
Some 2025 Escape/Maverick vehicles equipped with an 8-inch instrument panel cluster (IPC) display may exhibit a condition where the fuel gauge displays up to the 8th mark below full fuel level when the fuel tank is full. This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected by the end of Q1 2026. Replacement/reprogramming of the IPC will not resolve this condition. Monitor PTS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available. If this condition is encountered, enter a vehicle identification number (VIN) and click the "Submit Global Concern Report (GCR)" link at the upper right of the PTS "Vehicle ID" screen. Fill out the GCR form, referencing this article number in the report.

Shine a flashlight at you dash and you will discover the gas and temp gauges are not linear at all, there are 10 individual marks that light up individually.
This.

It appears to be 1/8 increments. I think of it as a "guide". When DTE gets to 50, I start looking for a gas station.

The tank is shaped oddly, I find mine drops quickly too.
