Man, just stumbled on this thread from last year while looking up Maverick accident safety. Sucks so bad about your truck getting totaled at just 6k miles, but reading that the crumple zones saved you from a semi at 20 mph is crazy.
Rear-end crashes with semis are wild because even at low speeds, the structural unibody damage is insane. A lot of times these highway accidents happen simply because long-haul drivers are completely exhausted and zone out.
