Another thing not mentioned here is a bug in the software that keeps the screen from going full bright. I think the trick is to adjust (on the screen slider) to full dim, then go back to full bright. See if that makes a difference. I remember mine seeming dim when I first got the truck and that fixed it. Hasn't been an issue since.

Another bug I've noticed is that my ambient lighting resets to off occasionally and I have to go in and slide it back up. (I have non Lux lariat, so no Sync 3)
^ T H I S

The BUG (or design feature) still exists even with the latest software on MY22 or MY23.
I have had both.

Adjusting the brightness slider from near 0% to 50% has the screen getting brighter.
Going from 50% to 100% has no effect on the brightness.

This is a major bug.

this is what I'm experiencing as well. I've also turned the brightness up and down on all screens to no avail.

The thing is, I believe most people would not care. Most of my friends do not even use the infotainment preferring to either be blank or just show a clock.

The screens on my 22 and 23 XLTs are perfectly bright...

For those who believe they have an issue, have you maxed the brightness settings on both the
instrument cluster and the center infotainment screen?

.
yes this right here. i noticed the other day that the instrument cluster brightens both.

At night time its so dim all of the letters look fuzzy and extremely difficult to read. While I'm older, younger people think its horribly dim too. I first noticed it when I 1st saw it a the dealer, but I thought the overcast weather and screen protector were the cause.

I had a 2019 Ford Transit Connect Wagon, its screen was normal, this one isn't. Oh well, life of a beta tester,
I have an XLT built in July and mine has no problems with brightness.

thanks, I'm hoping it's an issue the dealer will fix, since it doesn't seem to be normal.

Yeah, I have no issues with mine, its very bright, I even turned the brightness down. I'm guessing there were a bad batch of screens and you got one.

I did read some older posts here about this issue. Surely FoMoCo is going to fix it. I mean no other car today is sold with a main screen thats 40-50% dimmer than every other one they sell. I'm not ready to take it to the dealer and have them tell me everything is fine.

Has anyone here (looking at you Ford social media person), heard any updates on this issue? I plan on making a video about it soon. Thanks in advance

I agree that the screen in my 2023 XLT Hybrid isn't as bright as I'm accustomed to. Even before I added the tempered glass screen protector, there were some bright days in June when it was hard to see. While the screen protector does introduce glare in some cases, I don't constantly focus on the screen. None of the previously suggested fixes in this thread seem to make a difference. It could be due to it being an XLT rather than a Lariat, or it might be a matter of perception, with us as owners expecting it to match the brightness of other vehicle models. The primary dashboard screen is as bright as expected.

I noticed numerous complaints about the Maverick's quality before I received mine, but I didn't pay much attention to them. People griped about the interior layout and the absence of certain features. So far, it has been a reliable vehicle. It's an affordable vehicle, and while that shouldn't be an excuse when addressing complaints, the reality is that the "pandemic" has caused significant problems not just for Ford but also for other major automakers like the big 3 and companies like KIA and Hyundai. The quality of all these manufacturers has suffered due to various reasons, including staffing and product availability.

Yes, the Maverick is an affordable choice. I don't expect it to be lavishly adorned with gold trim, nor do I desire that. While some may dislike the interior, I personally love it. I've also experienced some of the minor rattling issues that others have mentioned, but it's not a major concern for me. Ideally, I'd prefer a vehicle that lasts for decades, but the reality is that I'd need to look beyond the big 3 automakers and consider brands like Toyota. American cars haven't been synonymous with quality for a while. I wish that @Ford Motor Company and others would produce affordable vehicles that last for decades, but as long as investors and profit motives are involved, they'll keep creating vehicles that need to be replaced periodically. It's unfortunate that vehicles have become disposable commodities. You can either buy a $30,000 vehicle that lasts 5-10 years or an $80,000 vehicle that lasts the same duration. At this point, the Maverick was the choice I preferred.

At the DFW Maverick meetup, I checked everyone's screen. No matter the trim level (or SYNC version), the screens can only go to 50% brightness. No other Ford models sold in last 20 years, have screens this dark. Put your phone or tablet next to it, to see just how dim it really is.

I can see where this could be a safety issue, especially at night. I plan on posting videos online, of the Mav screen, compared to other Fords. Maybe if enough bad press gets out, Ford will fix it.
