2023 rear camera can it be viewed while driving?

Can it be viewed while driving forward? Rear view mirror is ok, but additional rear view might be nice. I did not get corner cameras because I new when I ordered it, on the first day ordering was open in sept. 2022, that only half of those ordering hybrids would get them. So to stay in the clear I went no options.

The camera cannot be used unless in reverse (22-24). Only 25+ have the 360º camera system.

Saying that yours works that way without stating the year of your Maverick may confuse folks.

22-24's do not work that way.

It will stay on as long as you're going less than 5 miles an hour and you have just shifted out of reverse.' Which I do not think was the intent of the OP question.

I'm not sure if every 2025 does this I just hit the button for the camera while driving and there the rear camera comes on. Never saw it listed anywhere.

I have a 2025 XL. Can't use the rear camera while driving, and also cannot turn on the rear cargo light while driving. I only wish I could use the camera while driving when I'm towing something to help keep an eye on the load. As for the cargo light, pretty useful to be able to flick it on at night after hitting a rough patch in the road to make sure cargo in the bed hasn't shifted. My old Nissan Frontier WOULD let you switch the rear cargo light on and it came in handy several times. Of course I never left it on when driving, and usually tried not to switch it on if there were other vehicles behind me.

About 6 months after I bought my 23 hybrid Lariat, the rear view camera would stay on even when I was going forward. Its not supposed to do that. When I had it at the dealer for a recall, they replaced something behind the screen that fixed the issue.

2022 to 2024 CAN have the rear view video on WHILE DRIVING

But only at 5 MPH and slower.
There is a setting called camera delay.

You need to shift to R for a second to turn the camera on, then it will stay on in Drive up to 5 mph.

I find this useful when maneuvering trailers. Hitching. Unhitching. Etc.

A number of us have installed rear view mirror cameras.
Sounds like one may be a fit for your needs.

What is a rear mirror camera, what does it show? Where does it go? How hard is it to install? If it just shows what the rear view mirror shows I would not be interested. It is the tailgate that cuts the near term view that the rear camera gets past.
