I got a Hybrid XL with 360 and a hitch. Took about 580 days since ordered.

Good
- Quiet
- I like the interior
- Great headroom! I have 4 or 5 inches over my head and I'm 6'2"
- Acceleration is "jaunty" from like 0-20, and it never feels like you're driving a Prius
-factory standard CC is really nice.
- Love knowing I have the safety features
- Android auto works well and integrates simply. I did not feel like I was missing anything with the screen size.

Bad
- The hybrid drive system makes high pitched whines that sound like a far off fire engine siren at low speeds. Not a prob on the highway, but around the city I'm always trying to figure out where the fire truck is coming from.
- Paint scratches easily, at least in the bed.

The in-between
- Not crazy about the twist shifter, but it's ok. I know shifting all the way right is drive but I don't like that you have to look at it to find reverse. It lacks the tactile feedback of a mechanical shifter.
- Mileage. I live in Texas where the highways are 70mph. Averaging 75 over 500 miles, I get 36mpg. If you are highway commuting primarily at high speeds, you can get the Ecoboost and get similar mileage with a much faster engine.
- touch screen is very upright and your fingernails need to be short to hit the buttons.

I have 19K miles on my Hybrid and haven't heard these "high-Pitched whines you talk about. But you need to remember that this is a partially elec vehicle and they make "different" noises.

I agree. I have a 2007 Tacoma 4door which was a very dependable truck, but I never liked it much. 17mpg is barely better than my 2002 Ram Quad cab which was far more comfortable. The legroom in the back seat of the Mav is better than the Taco. I love the safety features!

I was annoyed to have to pay almost $5K to get cruise control (only on XLT and Lariat), but $500 of that was the CoPilot360 which I love.

I'm glad you like your Android Auto. I don't like mine. I've tried 4 different phones and only the LG stays connected (mostly). I gave up on the cable and just use Bluetooth. The screen is okay, but it gets dimmer as days go by. Every 2 or 3 days I have to make it bright again by dimming it slightly and then going back to full bright. The rotary shifter is stupid but the key is the worst- I call it the "Ford Middle Finger to the Owners". What were they thinking?

Having to manually reset the mode to "Eco" each time is annoying (old people forget things). Still, it's worth it because I think I get e 3-4mpg boost. I commute 80 miles a day in the Western NC mountains and keep it around 59 (it's Trooper Town around here). I am getting 47mpg and 50+ when I drive in the Georgia hills. I have never experienced the whine, but the decent control on the frequent downhill grades is curiously annoying.

Enjoy!

I will take the Maverick any day over most other vehicles even if it does have some negatives. Name me one vehicle that is 100% positive, no matter what the cost. What one person does not like does not bother another person. It all is relative. People should drive what they want to drive, can afford to drive, enjoy the things they enjoy and endure what they do not like, or else get rid of it and get something else. Case closed.

I'm glad I didn't get the chance to order a 2022. The 23 XL comes with cruise standard. (which I won't use much). I also ordered CP360, as I really wanted power mirrors in case my wife drives it. And the addition of Atlas blue, which to me is a much nicer color than velocity blue. I seem to like blues about 40-70% dark. Not as dark as Alto or as light as Velocity. Love the Kona blue on my Mustang.
