I thought I would update on my 2023 XL i purchased before Thanksgiving.

So far its been pretty flawless, my MPG life so far is 39 mpg, but i been doing a lot of interstate driving, I averaged 46 MPG on sat on more rural city driving

Still one of the nicest driving platforms out there, I have owned 3 Bronco Sports and they all drive very similar. The Hybrid has been a learning curve as I never owned one before but sure has been fun. I never thought i would miss shifting.

My biggest gripe is Fords Sync, I have had it hard lock at ford logo, car play is hit miss. When it works its great but this is 2023 not 1984, this should be pretty bulletproof by now. I have had same issues on our Bronco Sports but not quite as bad.

No mechanical issues, No oil consumption. Always starts, warms up quicker than I expected. A nice feature in Ohio winters.

Compared to my Bronco Sport Heritage the Maverick rides a touch better, Room is about the same inside. I am 6'6" and about 400 lbs and i am comfortable in both. Great leg room and head room.

Power has not been a problem, It is quick, snappy and I rarely get it over 50% on the power meter. It is actually quicker than I expected, It is about the same as my 1.5 Ecoboost in Bronco sport. Is it a 2.0 turbo nope, but it is not carrying the 4wd driveline weight either. You really cannot go wrong with either powerplant.

On the issues some report, at least on driving as a older farmer thats worked on equipment for 40 years, the Hybrid is really kind of a mechanical drive, Its more of a direct connection. Unlike the automatic that has fluid couplings, Torque converter and clutch packs. The Hybrid can wind up torque at times when a motor does not releases and cause a shudder. To me its a mechanical connection unloading torque. Nothing wrong either way.

So far been a fun little beast thats going on another road trip this weekend! New tires Cross Climate 2 and a trifold bed cover. New rims in spring and I hope she lasts a long time! Or at least till I see a Terrain colored Hybrid Lariat on lot than all bets are off!

New tires Cross Climate 2...
Good choice there.

My favorite part of the Hybrid, other than the unbelievable mileage, is the transmission. Buttery smooth when starting from a dead stop. And no herky-jerky shifting at all.

I use wired Android Auto, or sometimes just bluetooth to play stored music on my Pixel phone. Other than an initial day 1 fail to sync + infotainment lockup, the AA/bluetooth has been flawless. Make sure you're using a high quality USB C cable, either OEM or from a known good brand like ANKER, etc.

I see on your info that you have a 2020 Maverick. I would keep that year Mav; it will definitely be a collectable ;) What colors did they have back then?????
