2023 Ford Maverick - 12 Changes We Need

12 Changes that should be made for the 23 Ford Maverick:
0:00 Introduction
1:39 1. Rear Seat Back
2:45 2. Rear Seat Cushion Design
3:20 3. SYNC 3 Standard
3:52 4. CoPilot 360 Package
4:38 5. Drive Mode Functionality
5:35 6. Auto Start/Stop Delete
5:58 7. XL Optional Package
6:32 8. Luxury Package Changes
7:55 9. Fog Lights
8:29 10. Sport Package
9:04 11. SiriusXM
9:34 12. Navigation

Excellent!!!!

And i think the bright/contrast ratio in the screen sync2 should be higher. In shining days in some routes and some moments of the day you simply cant see the screen . So a better screen would be nice for the 2023 model.

I agree with the cruise control option on the XL.

As much as I would like the hybrid with AWD, I think I would opt for a plug-in hybrid 2WD version instead. We have a new plug-in hybrid Escape and I think this would be an excellent combination in the Maverick. I would, however, give it a bigger battery than the one in the Escape -- One with about 45-55 miles of range.

The last suggestion is about color choices. I wanted a standard XLT color for my XL. I was willing to pay a reasonable custom color charge just to get it. It's not that hard to plan and schedule any color being produced at the factory. Why not give buyers a choice to pay a reasonable premium to get any "standard" color available on any model?

Thank you to the folks for putting the list together. It's a great start and should generate some useful insight to the product manager(s) for the Maverick.

Rein in dealers! No more "admin fees" and other such to drive up price. Or just do away with dealers...order on line and have vehicle delivered to your driveway.

Most of these changes either make no sense or are already available. Any of the upgrades I have already on my 1st edition. The only one I see that would be a good edition is the fog lights.

This list makes no sense considering most of this already comes with the Lariat or 1st edition. The only thing that doesn't is the fog lights. The auto start stop has a switch where you can turn it off and who needs navigation with the Sync3 and cell phones?

85% of Americans own smartphones...nearly evenly split between iOS and Android....as long as they have Car Play, Navigation is only needed by 15% of Americans. My wife's factory nav (2016 Mazda 6) is no longer updatable and is useless.

As far as Sirius XM goes...you can get that on your mobile device as well...but the music sound quality is awful now. Sirius XM has limited bandwidth and with all the channels, music and news sound a step above AM radio so that Howard Stern comes over in HD...truly sad.

The music quality on android and apple music are amazing these days...if you don't have a streaming phone plan...the upgrade is cheaper than a Sirius XM subscription and a nav system.

Fog/Driving lights are a must...just looks like they were forgotten.

Good call on navigation like Bronco Sport would be nice. Would love to see all cars not tied to a specific cell provider and get the music services built in. No need for phone. XM is useless in my opinion.
Nav is available free on all phones. Cars are tied to iOS or Android...not a specific provider unless you want onboard wifi.

From a strictly personal perspective, there are things on the list I either don't want/need (and several will never conceivably have any use for) or don't care about one way or another. Member of the old school: the fewer bells and whistles on a base model, the fewer things to break or otherwise go awry.

One item would add is a back-up camera fully functional regardless of whether the tailgate is up or down. That being said even though I adhere to the old turn the head and look over the shoulder method when reversing. Have yet to so much as glance at the screen when backing up but gratifying to know it will come in handy whenever hauling some tall cargo or if hard tri-fold is all the way open.

Far from crucial but would appreciate an option to include a CD player. That ship has not quite sailed - yet - but realize its crew is pulling in the hawsers.
Trust me old-timer ... That ship HAS sailed. 😉

Entry level build is fine as is. After all it is the Entry Level. On the other hand the Lariat needs a few more gadgets to make it more LUX.
1. Homelink. I added that to mine.
2. Foglights. The front end looks like someone forgot to install them.
3. Memory front drivers seat and mirrors. I'm 6' and my wife is 5'2" She gripes every time I screw up her Maverick seat and mirror settings. Its MY Maverick by the way!
4. Folding outside mirrors would be handy. Some parking places are stupid narrow.
5. Cooled or at least vented seats.
6. Split rear seat, haul goodies on one side and sit on the other.

You should watch the video, I explain that some of those first items should be standard on all Mavericks or at least the XLT without spending $5k to go to the Lariat.

I've been hoping someone would figure out how to change the screen out to a larger and brighter one. Is anyone fussing around with that?

1. SYNC 3 Standard
2. Green exterior paint of some sort
3. Fog Lights
4. Dual Exhaust
5. Luxury/tow/sport package where the hood and tailgate come with the hydraulic assist struts.
6. Different cloth/leather interior color choices
7. Better speakers!!!!
8. Rear window defrost standard
9. AWD option with Hybrid!!!
10. LED headlights Standard.
11. Panoramic Sun Roof
12. More Camera options on vehicle (dare I say it) like the Santa Cruz has the sideview signal cameras or birdseye view camera.

Knowing what the truck is now that I finally own one, I'd pay extra for all of the above. To me, it's what I want and look for in a vehicle so it would be worth it.

Listen you young whipper snapper, us old timers still have some fantastic CD collections we don’t want going to waste! 🤣
Speaking of that, have any of you oldies figured out how to possibly add/tie-in a CD player to the existing system?

What you are asking for does not exist.
