Way to go Ford! I hope the Maverick will change the automotive world!

Ford Press Release:

2022 Maverick Pricing is Less Expensive Than The Model T Adjusted for Inflation
The all-new 2022 Ford Maverick’s starting MSRP of $19,995 is lower than the price of a Model T adjusted for inflation.
The original Model T cost $850 when it first went on sale in 1908. In today’s dollars, that’s more than $25,000. Even when you add the destination and delivery charge of $1,495 to the Maverick’s MSRP of $19,995, it still rings in at $21,490.
The iconic Model T sold as a four-cylinder, 20 horsepower, five-passenger family car that “looks good and is as good as it looks.” The Model T had a range of 225-250 miles on a single tank of gas, and far fewer features.

My previous Nissan pick-up cost 10K (IlRC) in 1994, which is about 18.5K in todays dollars, but it was a manual transmission, and yes the color was red just like in the pic.

Interestingly, the price continued to drop over the years.
Guess thats why they sold 15 million of them.

Model T....yeah because certainly economies of scale and production techniques were exactly the same...lol

Price comparisons from 20 years is a good indicator....but back to the first production car....that’s a stretch, no offense.

Yes, my current 2001 Ranger 2WD XLT cost about $18K so even without the using the inflation calculator my perspective is that the equivalent purchase price has come down.

I’ve been driving my Model T for ten years and it is the most reliable vehicle I own. It has never failed me and I never have to do anything to it. Hopefully the Maverick is just as reliable when it is 95 years old….

I didn't buy this line from my AP American History teacher in 1995, and I don't buy this crap in 2021.

As a Model A Ford owner .... I share your sentiments. Been in the family since ‘58. Happily waiting for the Maverick.
See you on the Ford road. ✔🇺🇸

This is more like it. You won’t see Ford lower the price of a new Maverick by $10K four years from now like the Model T.
Inflation comparisons are annoying. Some just don’t want to admit that the dollar had more value back in the day and some items were more attainable at a truly lower cost.
The media and government would love for us all to believe that people as far back as the founding fathers were paying the equivalent of $300,000 for a home and that we should all accept a 30 year mortgage of $1900/month and an 8 year car loan of $700/month.
I’m not buying it.

With that said, The $22-$35K range of the maverick is okay relative to a new Civic; however, I’m not going to fool myself into thinking it’s the same price or better than a Model T for those living in 1920.
